A good overall stay in a convenient location

The hotel was comfortable enough for a stay before an early flight from Gatwick's South Terminal. Lots of people were checking in when I arrived, but check-in was still quick. Rooms were comfortable and clean enough. I liked the fact that food was available via room service all night, as I arrived at the hotel late. However, I ordered a pizza, and it was quite cold when it arrived. Hotel is linked to the airport, so that is really convenient. A good overall stay.

Convenient and comfortable

A very conveniently located hotel for South Terminal with a number of Restaurant options, although the seating in the bar dining area was very uncomfortable. The ensuite was spotless , bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water.

Disappointed

My family and I stayed at Hilton Gatwick pre and post a short family holiday to Rome. Though the pre visit was a reasonable experience, I was left disappointed post holiday. Upon arrival at Hilton we were notified the family room was experiencing maintenance issues. We were therefore offered 3 separate rooms. Thankfully my children are teenagers, otherwise this would have been a problem! This wasn’t so much the issue though, rather the length of time staff faffed around trying to tend to the logistics, despite having had all day to organise a plan B. Upon inspection of the rooms, they were dirty with pubic hairs in one of the baths and a cracked toilet seat. After a full day in Rome and a late flight, I really didn’t appreciate cleaning three rooms with antibacterial wipes in the early hours! The following morning, I was awoken by a knock on the door at approximately 08:00. Upon opening the door, a cleaner asked if i wanted him to make up the room. Having refused, he then pointed out the fact I had forgotten to hang my do not disturb sign. Given I had spent half the night doing his job, I felt like doing something else with the sign! Irrespective, we were due to check out within 4 hours so couldn’t see why his presence was relevant anyway. Though a two star rating would be more appropriate for Hilton Gatwick, I have offered three purely on the basis of breakfast, which was very nice. Although very dissatisfied with the stay, at least we didn’t leave hungry!

Comfortable and clean stay

We used the Hilton as a stop prior to an early flight. For this purpose it was ideal. The room was clean and comfortable. The only criticism was a lack of toiletries, with dispensers almost empty. Despite this minor issue, overall very good.

No hot water!!!

We have stayed at the Hilton dozens of times, it is close and convenient for arriving and departing Gatwick. On the morning of our departure we dried the water in the shower and sink, it was freezing cold. I rang reception only to be told that it was a hotel wide issue, and that it would not be reinstated until after we had left for our fight to the USA. I did not receive an apology nor any offer of compensation, can you imagine beginning a 9 hr transatlantic flight without having had any functions wash facilities. Very poor indeed
