Good stay but unfortunate false alarm fire alarm at 11pm which woke us up on planned early night before flight. There was no message or staff reassurance that this was a false alarm which would have helped (the alarm just continued for a couple of minutes then stopped as we were about to leave the room)

Unfortunately the sound proofing of this hotel needs attention both the doors slamming , squeaking and the flushing of toilets in surrounding rooms sounding louder than any I have ever heard means you are not getting any quality of sleep here . The staff however are great the breakfast staff and quality of breakfast is exceptional

Why I booked this hotel. It was close to the airport, as well we were close to the train and able to go into London Center to site see with in 30 mins. It was less than 10 mins from our hotel room to the check in point at the airport for our connecting flight. The best part of our brief stay there was the people, the staff who work here are amazing. We needed information and they were quick to suggest options of places to go and how to get around. I wish I had taken their names because the 2 fellows who we spoke to really were outstanding. They were super helpful and we really appreciated it during our stop over in London. We will definitely be back to London, England. The people we spoke with here were just the best. The room I had, to stay in was nicely clean. This is super important to me, the room itself was standard it had all we needed for a good night sleep. Breakfast-My husband and I also enjoyed the breakfast buffet it’s open at 5 am which is super helpful; they had every breakfast option you could imagine and I would say lunch options also, from cured meats to salads. Happy to say all was very tasty, the staff in the restaurant were also on point. Well done Hilton Hotel in Gatwick!

Broken glass/plastic in bed

Basically a good night's sleep but finding dirt on the carpet and a piece of sharp broken glass/plastic in the bed that could easily have caused me a serious cut was upsetting
