From Faver, travel 120 kilometres to the north to get to Innsbruck, a well-known city. You can also head 170 kilometres northwest to spend some time at another great city, Vaduz.

Make your way out of Faver and you'll see some picturesque natural sights. Just 45 kilometres away, Lake San Pellegrino is a great place to soak up some sunshine. Also consider checking out Lago di Tovel, 20 kilometres away from Faver.

Enjoy the buzz of seeing a live ice hockey game at Palaonda, home to the Bolzano-Bozen Foxes. After you've clapped and roared along with their passionate fans, why not enjoy a drink with them somewhere close by? To reach the arena, head 30 kilometres north to Bolzano.

Leave a cloud of white powder in your wake as you zigzag down the trails at Seceda Ski Area. Powder fiends should also load up their gear and head to Hochgurgl Ski Resort.

There's even more to see and do just around the corner. Cembra, 3 kilometres to the southwest, is known for Pyramids of Segonzano and the Villa de Varda Distillery. Though, if Haderburg Castle and Lake Piazze sound better to you, go 4 kilometres east from Faver to Segonzano.

Located 6 kilometres to the west, Faedo is a place chock-full with activities. The Museum of Customs and Traditions of the People of Trentino, the Endrizzi Winery and the Rotari Winery are all quite close. Keep in mind, Castle of San Gottardo and Wine Cellar are also worthwhile.

'There is no love sincerer than the love of food,' according to George Bernard Shaw, but throw travel into the mix and it's a marriage made in heaven. You're invited to indulge in your two loves by eating and drinking your way around Trento Province.

No food-loving traveller would leave Faver without experiencing one or two of the culinary specialties, such as knödel (potato bread dumplings) and speck juniper flavoured ham.

A meal isn't complete without dessert, so don't worry about counting calories for a while and lay into one of the most enticing sweet treats, knodel con le mele (apple dumplings).
