If you've still got itchy feet, why not head out and discover more of the Transylvania region? Nature lovers should plan an outing to Fagaras' stunning forests and rivers. A few other gotta-sees to put on your hit list are castles. If the weather is nice (or even if it's not), also get out there and have a whirl at some exciting activities like snowboarding and skiing.

Cristian is another place where you can kick back and order up room service like a boss. Sitting 45 kilometres southeast of Fagaras, it's where you'll find the Mount Tampa and Piata Sfatului. The Conacul Ambient and Rem's Pension are some of the short and long-stay options here. 45 kilometres to the north of Fagaras you'll also find Sighisoara, home to the Fronius Residence and Mercure Sighisoara Binderbubi Hotel & Spa (New opening). The Clock Tower and Sighisoara Citadel are popular places to explore when visiting Sighisoara.

Make your way 55 kilometres east and you'll find yourself in Brasov, a regional centre with a population of 280,000. While you're in this neck of the woods, work on your tourist game at Black Church, Saint Nicholas Church and the First Romanian School Museum. Zao Park and Brasov Fortress are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some choice photo ops. There are a range of great hotels available to book in Brasov. On the plane? Going to pieces cos you've got nowhere to stay at the other end? Keep calm! Chances are you'll be able to grab a room at the Hilton Sibiu. It's pretty close to Sibiu Airport, which is 70 kilometres from Fagaras' centre.
