Not too cashed up? No dramas. There are only a handful of cheaper accommodation options for those watching their pennies, but who needs choice when you've got Yukai Resort Enakyo Kokusai Hotel?

An additional Ena option is the Hotel Route-Inn Toki, 20 kilometres from central Ena.

Looking for things to do? Spend a few hours visiting the Kabuchan Mura and Binbougami Shrine. You'll find them in Achi, 25 kilometres to the east of Ena. The Otogi-tei KOFU and Yuruino Yado Keizan are just some of the hotel and apartment options here. 55 kilometres to the north of Ena you'll also find Gero, home to the Hotel Sasara and Yunoshimakan. The Gero Country Club and Sarubobo Shrine are popular places to explore while in Gero.

Go 85 kilometres north and you'll find Takayama, a regional centre with a population of 67,000. While you're in this neck of the woods, whip out your selfie stick and get your tourist on at Shiroyama Park, Higashiyama Walking Course and the Shorenji Temple. The Takayama Museum of History & Art and the Museum of Local History are a couple more attractions which are sure to offer up some envy-inducing photo ops. The Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan and Wanosato are just a couple of recommended places to stay in Takayama.

If you need to stay close to the airport when you arrive, see if you can get a night at the Comfort Hotel Central International Airport or the Centrair Hotel. And if you can't be bothered looking it up, Chubu Centrair International Airport is situated 80 kilometres from the centre of Ena.

The location is very convenient, just about a 7-minute walk to both the bus stop and train station, making it easy to get around or to go to Magome. It’s 20 minutes by taxi or bus to Magome. We had to use this hotel since we did Nakasendo Trail next day , starting in Magome. The neighborhood itself is quiet, safe, and has a relaxing atmosphere—great for unwinding after a day of exploring. One thing to keep in mind is that there are limited dining options open nearby in the evening, so it’s best to plan ahead by making reservations or arranging meals through the hotel. The hotel does not provide assistance on making outside restaurants reservations. Also, the check in time is 4:00 pm,but they helped us put our 2 carry-ons inside of the room,but we couldn’t access. The room was clean and well-maintained, with fresh, crisp linens and spotless towels, though they were a bit on the thinner side. The bedding follows a more traditional Japanese style—firmer mattress and pillows—which may not suit everyone’s preference, especially if you’re used to softer options. Shoes are removed at the main entrance/lobby. Yukata is provided inside of the room to be used at the public baths. The breakfast was included, but didn’t seem to have a wide variety of options, so we skipped it. While the overall stay was comfortable and peaceful, the price felt slightly high compared to the amenities provided. That said, the cleanliness, location, and calm surroundings still made it a pleasant experience.
