Make your way around 40 kilometres northwest of Elz and you'll hit the action of Wiesbaden.

You might encounter washed up treasures as you take a leisurely walk along the shore at Langener Waldsee.

Mother Nature's artwork is on show in numerous places around Elz. Just 40 kilometres away, Neroberg is a good place to start. Kochbrunnen sits 40 kilometres away and is another nice spot for a bit of downtime.

Sports fanatics don't need to worry about being left out in the cold during their stay. Rittal Arena Wetzlar is 40 kilometres away in Wetzlar and an ideal place to get your sporting fix. Make sure you check the event schedule to find out what's on.

Snowboarders and skiers will enjoy staying in Elz, as it provides access to Bodefeld Hunau Ski Resort and Wintersportpark Sahnehang. Just don't forget to pack plenty of layers! These winter wonderlands can get seriously icy.
