It's 130 kilometres east of Amsterdam, the capital city of Netherlands.

There are some pleasant natural sights not too far from Deurningen. Why not make your way 13 kilometres to 't Goor Park? Alternatively, enjoy the picturesque sights of Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park Hellendoorn Entrance, 30 kilometres away.

Get the blood flowing and enjoy a stroll around Arboretum Poortbulten or Arboretum Poort-Bulten. If you could do with a snack, they're two excellent spots to roll out a rug and have a picnic lunch.

Join the passionate fans cheering for the FC Twente at their home of Grolsch Veste, 7 kilometres away in Enschede. You can blend in with the locals by wearing the team colours, red.

If you're contemplating venturing outwards, go 4 kilometres south to Groot Driene. It's here you'll find the University of Twente and Grote Kerk. We also recommend trying out Oldenzaal, 4 kilometres to the east, for the Rijksmuseum Twente and Landgoed Singraven.

Heading to Tilligte? This place is 13 kilometres to the northeast. If you're staying here a while, grab a map and circle the English Garden, the Chronomium Museum and Saint Simon's and Jude's Church. Also consider taking a peek at Huize Keizer Museum and St. Nicolaas Church.

Your eyes shouldn't get to have all the fun while visiting Twente. Give your taste buds a little attention as well by sampling the local food and drink. After all, you haven't really experienced a destination until you've tasted its flavours.
