A warm ancestral home in Deschaillons, with a spectacular view of the St. Lawrence River. This is a place to slow down: watch ships from the panoramic upstairs lounge, cook with family, enjoy the sheltered hot tub, gather around a sunset fire and walk to the beach. A well-equipped, clean and charming home, ideal for families and quiet small groups.
The space
Le Havre du Navigateur is an ancestral home built in 1895, once lived in by families of navigators. With its 9-foot ceilings, woodwork, distinct rooms and floors that may creak, it has kept the soul of a village home. It will especially appeal to travellers who enjoy older homes that are comfortable, lively and full of character.
On the main floor, the living room offers a comfortable space to relax after a day outside. The Roku smart TV lets you use your own streaming subscriptions, and a collection of movies is also available. The kitchen, with its marble countertops, is very well equipped for preparing real meals with family or friends, with everything you need to cook, serve and take the time to eat together.
The house has four bedrooms. One queen bedroom is located on the main floor, convenient for travellers who prefer to avoid stairs. Upstairs, one queen bedroom, one double bedroom and one bedroom with two single beds can comfortably accommodate a family or a small group. A full bathroom with tub-shower and washer-dryer is located on the main floor, and a small powder room is available upstairs.
One of the most appreciated rooms is the panoramic upstairs lounge, with its large window looking directly onto the river. It is the perfect place to read, work remotely, do a puzzle or simply watch the ships go by. A desk, chair, monitor and fast Internet connection also make it possible to work with an inspiring view.
Families also enjoy the game room, equipped with a foosball table, an air hockey table and board games. On rainy days or quiet evenings, it gives both children and adults a place to unwind without relying on screens.
Outside, you will find a large yard of about 24,000 sq. ft. with a river view, a patio with dining table and barbecue, a fire pit with Adirondack chairs, a hammock under the apple tree and a pirate-ship play structure with a water cannon for children. The hot tub is installed in a rustic garage, sheltered from the weather, making it more comfortable to enjoy in every season.
Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house, the patio, the garage where the hot tub is located, the backyard, the fire pit, the outdoor play structure and the driveway.
The basement, attic, maintenance closet and shed are not accessible to guests. For safety reasons, it is also forbidden to go down toward the river beyond the rope: the slope is steep and dangerous.
Other things to note
Le Havre du Navigateur is an ancestral village home. It is clean, comfortable and full of charm, but it keeps the particular features of an older house: floors that may creak, separate rooms, woodwork and a warm atmosphere rather than a new, standardized design.
The house is intended for personal, family or tourist stays, in a spirit of rest and respect for the property. It is not suitable for construction stays, work crews or use as an operational base. We prioritize guests who wish to enjoy the river, the house and the area in a peaceful setting.
The house is located in a quiet residential area, with neighbours nearby. It is best suited for families and quiet small groups who want to enjoy the river, the hot tub, the outdoor fire pit and peaceful moments. It is not intended for parties, noisy gatherings or stays focused on evening entertainment.
The backyard offers a spectacular view of the river, but it is not fenced. The yard extends toward a steep slope leading down toward the river; young children must therefore be closely supervised outside.
The main living room is comfortable, but the house is better suited for families or small groups than for eight adults who all want to spend the evening seated together in the same living room. The spaces are spread out between the living room, dining room, game room, upstairs panoramic lounge and outdoor areas.
The hot tub is installed in the rustic garage, sheltered from the weather. It is pleasant to use even when it rains or snows, but it does not offer a direct view of the river.
The TV works with Roku and streaming apps. There is no traditional cable. You can use your own subscriptions such as Netflix, Prime, Disney+, ICI Tou.tv, TVA+ or Noovo.
Outdoor amenities are seasonal. The patio, outdoor furniture, hammock, play structure and fire pit are installed or accessible depending on the time of year, weather and winter conditions. In winter, the fire pit is not cleared of snow.
On-site parking is limited to 3 passenger vehicles for the entire group. The site is not suitable for oversized, commercial or work vehicles.
Check-in and check-out times are fixed and communicated before the stay. Access to the property is only possible during the scheduled period; early access is not offered.
The base rate includes up to 4 guests. Any additional person present on the property, even for a single night, must be declared in the reservation. Additional guest fees apply beyond 4 travellers.
