Attractions and Hotels Near Dargo

Just can't keep those feet still? If you're nodding furiously, then go and explore the wider Victoria region. Nature buffs should check out Dargo's incredible rivers. A few other gotta-see sights to stick on your hit list are history museums. Alternatively, have a go at a few popular regional activities like snowboarding and skiing.

Everyone knows Aussies are pretty relaxed, so consider hanging round a little longer and checking out the Mitchell River Silt Jetties Gippsland Lakes Reserve and the Robb Street Gallery in Bairnsdale, 50 kilometres to the southeast of Dargo. If you'd like to spend a night or two in Bairnsdale, look into the Best Western Colonial Motor Inn and Bairnsdale International. 55 kilometres to the north of Dargo you can also stay at Hotham Heights, which is home to the Tanderra Ski Lodge and Moritz Apartments Mt Hotham. Sitting 75 kilometres southeast of Dargo is Lakes Entrance, a regional centre with a population of 6,000. It's home to some sweet attractions, like Cunningham Foot Bridge, Lakes Entrance Bowls Club and the Wyanga Park Winery. Why not also stop and explore the Griffith's Sea Shell Museum and Marine Display and Lakes Entrance Visitor Information Centre? Elk at falls creek was an amazing stay. The in house restaurant Sorella had amazing food and service was fast. The menu choice I felt was a bit limited, however of the choices , all was cooked exceptionally well and all were tasty. I liked that the property has a separate entrance to use after being out on the slopes as well as the area for taking off boots was plenty and close to my room. It was a nice touch to have a separate area for relaxing away from the main dinning area. Our host Jake was fantastic, before arriving communication was fast and he was a really nice person to chat too. In fact all the dinning and bar staff were welcoming and nice to chat with. Staying in one if the smaller rooms was comfortable. The bed was pretty comfortable, it was a nice touch having a smaller heating cupboard in my room as having a nice toasty jacket in the morning was a bonus. The bathroom was great too , a tad small to be expected although i had no complaints. The heated bath rack was great. The walk down to the slopes was easy enough, a little harder on the way back up the hill, but there was a shuttle bus which was all too easy. Ski hire was near by and the team down there were fantastic. The highlight and main reason for booking with elk was the location and the hot tubs which were a very big plus afterwards. Thankyou all so much for an excellent stay.
