Very clean and updated room. Arrived late due to flight being cancelled and left early to take tranzalpine train so can’t fault this place at all. Too bad we couldn’t stay longer

No room service. Breakfast uninspired and self-service buffet (sugary small pastries, the cheapest white bread for toast; warmer trays of dry scrambled egg, raw ‘grilled’ tomatoes, cheap sausage and limp bacon) and filter coffee in a flask. Not acceptable for Christchurch’s newest hotel! I walked 2 minutes to Riverside and had a great breakfast for $15. Rooms clean and tidy but no staff after hours. And the entrance adjoins Kentucky FriedChicken outlet so many homeless people outside. Central Hotel but priced too high for what it offers - which is just a room and a franchise roof top restaurant.

Would have liked to have tried the Bar - Open - but didn't realise it was closed Sundays and Mondays and we were busy Saturday. Lovely room with a view towards the Cathedral and the Spark Building. The room was spacious and had all that we needed. My only concern is the 2 homeless people that slept outside the entrance to the Hotel all weekend. They didn't cause any bother that I saw but very off putting. The receptionist said the Police keep an eye on them but they never moved. Thanks to the Hotel for giving us a late checkout on our last morning. Much appreciated.

This hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the Terrace and the Riverside Markets. The connecting rooms we had were clean and the staff were helpful - one helped my. Wife with the luggage and another suggested booking directly with Super Shuttle. Breakfast was also great and the lady who was there both days during our stay (she was alone on the 2nd) was absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend this hotel if you're in Christchurch!
