Check in was a let down. You have to use a kiosk and get your own cards. The workers at the podium were nice and helpful though. The area in front to park was very crowded, but no other options unless you like walking so we did the valet parking. If we had room neighbours we had no idea, it was quiet. We had a very nice view of the river. The beds were very small and I hit my head and legs on the wall one of the beds was against often. A lot of the things in the room are charged for use, so we tried to not touch anything. Lots of places to walk around and see. Great location.

I have always been coming to River Hotel but my last stay changed my mind. I won’t fully blame the hotel but to the extent I will because the valet service was so rude and disrespectful. If they are third party who works for River hotel then River hotel needs a new valet company. Valet wants me to sign the card without telling me why I need to sign, he told me to either sign or go self park. This is on River Hotel since YOUR customers who are paying $300 to stay a night are being disrespected by people YOU hired. Sadly I will need to find a new hotel because I loved the location.

Thus property was beautiful, very clean, friendly staff and there was free coffee. Amazing views made it even better. We walked across the street to the River Walk and down the block to a boat tour. We also walked to a bar and a restaurant downtown. If we go back to Chicago, we would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous location in downtown. Staff is so courteous and nice it was a pleasure. Incredible view to the river. Very comfortable bed and linens and the best pillows I had in a long time. Loved the free filtered water. Definitely will be back.

This was worth the deal price we found on Expedia but I wouldn’t pay full price. The housekeeping was inconsistent. While all of our interactions with staff were great we didn’t have many. The toilet was very loud and didn’t flush without being held down.
