More active types can also have a go at popular regional pastimes like rock climbing, cycling and culinary tours.

Sitting 12 kilometres south of Chavoy, it's where you'll find the German Ossuary at Huisnes-sur-Mer and St. Gervais Basilica. Or, you could stay in Pontaubault, 12 kilometres to the south of Chavoy, where you'll find the Le Gué du Holme and Hotel Le Pommeray. Unless you're planning to set up camp at Granville - Mont Saint-Michel Airport, it might be wise to book some accommodation before you leave. The Brit Hotel Granville is not too far away, or you could always travel to the centre of town. It's 25 kilometres away.

Only two issues at this hotel: The carpet was dirty to the point it felt dirty, and the picture for the room online showed a view from the windows of the bay. The room was in the back of the hotel and the window faced the wall of the walkway directly below, not facing the village or the bay. Was told by reception that I reserved a “village view” room, which I didn’t. Nowhere on the reservation did it ask me if I wanted a bay view or village view. Reception said there were no bay view rooms. For our 40th wedding anniversary this was our experience. At least we were able to see the Abbey. So, be careful when reserving and make sure you confirm your room’s location specifically.
