The location was perfect for UVA's graduation. We were up and out very early so we missed the breakfast but the room was super clean, and the coffee was ready to roll early the following morning. Staff on duty was super nice! Thank You!

British charm in Charlottesville

Loved everything about this place. Daily linen service. Especially loved that uou can't hear what's going on in the rooms beside you. Breakfast is fantastic! Staff from front desk to custodial services very friendly & helpful. Centrally located to everything we needed.

Its an older hotel and you can tell that by some of the amenities, but the rooms are very well upkept, it looks like a lot of renovations have been done to keep things in repair , and the service was great! Honestly couldn't beat the price for the location and stay, would come back again.

Love staying in a gem that isn't a franchise.

Great stay! wish we could have stayed for another night to explore Charlottesville. The property is great and had all that we needed. They offer a tea service in the lobby with cookies....nice touch. We heard there is a great bagel place next door.."Bobos" I think it was called. The breakfast was sufficient and well stocked. We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Great value and location

This is a charming hotel with an excellent breakfast in a spacious dining room. It has an inviting lobby with a cozy gathering space and a nice large pool for swimmers. Our room was handicap accessible, and very clean, though we noticed an unpleasant smell from the bathroom -- maybe the shower drain? The location is great, near to many restaurants, shopping and UVA.

Got a good deal on the rate, otherwise might not be as generous with my review. Love the exterior and common areas in terms of style/decor. Very cozy and somewhat kitschy. The room was clean and updated. Bed was reasonably comfortable but pillows somewhat lacking. The main issues were: poorly functioning AC unit. It was either stuffy or cold. Noise; the rooms were not well sound proofed, especially the door/hallway noise but also road noise. The refrigerator (nice perk) made random loud noises all night, along with the AC. I used earplugs to sleep. The staff weren’t very friendly, just an occasional obligatory good morning at best. The exception was the lovely gentleman presiding over the breakfast service. Speaking of which - there is indeed a wide selection of hot food of typical budget hotel quality, but nothing to write home about. They really need to add a non-dairy option instead of only 2% milk for cereal etc. due to the noise and rough time sleeping, I wouldn’t stay here again if I could help it.

It's very clean and spacious. While not a "new" property, it's "British " decor in the lobby and lounge area is a welcome change from ultra modern minimalist in "new" hotels. The hallways are wide and light. When we needed to check in early, the staff was very accommodating.
