Book a room at Cuevas Rurales Bardeneras and Parador de Olite. They're as close as you'll get to the middle of Carcastillo.

Still haven't found somewhere to sleep in Carcastillo? Check out the El Juglar, which is located 25 kilometres from the heart of town. If that's not suitable, check out the Parador Sos Del Rey Catolico, 25 kilometres away.

Everyone knows Aussies just love to have a good time, so consider hanging round a little longer and going to the Convent of the Carmelitas and Parish Church of Santa Eufemia in Marcilla, 25 kilometres to the west of Carcastillo. Marcilla accommodation options are the Hospedería de Alesves and Villa Marcilla. Alternatively, you could stay in Tudela, 35 kilometres to the southwest of Carcastillo, where you can pick from the Hotel Aire de Bardenas and AC Hotel Ciudad de Tudela by Marriott. Go 75 kilometres east and you'll find yourself in Jaca, a regional centre with a population of 13,000. While you're checking out this neck of the woods, whip out your selfie stick and get your tourist on at Jaca Cathedral, the Ciudadela and Fort Rapitan. If you're in the area for a bit longer, keep the good times rolling with a visit to the Diocesan Museum of Jaca - Romanesque Art and Clock Tower.
