You may like to have a look at some more places to stay, such as the Parador De Gredos Avila or the Hotel La Canela. The former is situated 30 kilometres from central Buenaventura, and the second is 25 kilometres away. If you're staying in Madrigal de la Vera, be sure to explore the Golf Candeleda and Castro Celta de El Raso.

Sitting 55 kilometres north of Buenaventura is Avila, a regional centre with a population of 57,000. It's home to some great attractions, like Royal Monastery of Saint Thomas, the Museo Oriental and Convento de San Jose. If you've got time to spare, keep the good time rolling at the Avila Provincial Museum and Basilica de San Vicente.
