Bourdeaux has only 1 hotel within a 10-kilometre radius of its centre, so book on the double if you want to base yourself nearby.

When that last coffee wears off and you can't look at another tourist attraction, snuggle up with a movie in bed at Auberge Les Sibourgs. It's about as central as you'll get in Bourdeaux.

If you're still after a place to stay and none look up to the job, check out the Le Clair de la Plume or the Valsoyo. The first is 25 kilometres away, while the second is 30 kilometres away. If these aren't your style, we'd recommend the La Picholine, which is 25 kilometres from the downtown area.

Don't shoot through before you've had a squiz at the Valdaine Golf Club and Chateau des Adhemar in La Bâtie-Rolland. If you want to stay in La Bâtie-Rolland, consider the L'hotel du Golf - Domaine de la Valdaine and Le Castel du Mont-Boisé. Or, you could stay in Allex, 30 kilometres to the northwest of Bourdeaux, where you can choose from the La Petite Aiguebonne and La Demeure de Grâne. Should you choose to stay in Allex, make sure you visit Museum of the Unusual and the Le Jardin Aux Oiseaux.

Get a ride 30 kilometres west and you'll find Montelimar, a regional centre with a population of 36,000. While you're checking out this neck of the woods, you'll be able to get your tourist on at Musee International des Sucreries, Place du Marche and the Musee de la Miniature. Why not also see what's going on at Parc d'Activites Fortuneau and the Fabrique et Musee du Nougat de Montelimar? The Citotel Le Sphinx and Hôtel La Crémaillère are a few of recommended places to stay in Montelimar.

Unless you're going to pitch a tent at Chabeuil Airport, it might be wise to book some accommodation. The Comfort Hotel Valence is close by, or you could always travel to the centre of town. It's 40 kilometres away.
