Rooms have no air conditioning so you either keep a window open and put up with the noise from outside (cars, ambulances etc) or keep it close and ask for a fan. Carpet was smelly, like dirty feet. Spa had nobody at the front desk and it was noisy. The music by the check in area is so unnecessarily loud. In room dining was average. Better to walk around the block to one of the restaurants, there’s a burger place and a Mexican place. It’s a shame as it is not my first time in this hotel and I used to like it, but it looks like it’s getting old and in need of some improvement.

THERE ARE NO AIR CONDITIONERS. To keep cool, they advise you to open the windows and let all the highly toxic, polluted, and contaminated air in to your room. The air pollution is so bad it will make your eyes burn. When I tried to cancel my stay because there were no air conditioners in the room, the manager said, "All of the websites says we don't have air conditioners." I had Hotels.com open on my laptop and I responded, "No it doesn't, here is your listing right here and it doesn't say that." So he responded, "Well the fact that it doesn't list air conditioners means we don't have them." So I responded, "Oh so since you didn't list beds and towels and toilet paper, should I assume you don't have those either?" He realized his lies at the time were stupid, so he changed subjects. Anyhow, they tried to say that they wouldn't give me a refund because Hotels.com had to do it. But Hotels.com said the hotel had to do it. So they were both passing the buck. It overall was a terrible experience.

I stay here when I fly into Bogotá and am only going to be staying a night or two, because they have a complimentary airport shuttle. Breakfast is included, they have a spa, and the rooms are comfortable. The employees are friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Fantastic hotel in Bogota

Our stay at the Hotel Capital was fantastic. The hotel itself is beautiful and impeccably clean. The twin rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the bathrooms have a good size and a powerful shower. The breakfast (included) provides a good variety of local fresh food and eggs to order. The staff are the best: polite, helpful, knowledgeable, professional, and honest. My son forgot his wallet with all his IDs and money inside, and two days later I went to pick it up from the supervisor Marta Pineda, who had kept it safe for us. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay and for your staff’s honesty and integrity. We will return.
