The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and there was a nice array of items to choose from. The building is dated and drab. Only one of three elevators were working. The room itself was dingy and dated. Bed linens were clean and the bed was comfortable. Amenities in the room were limited/bare bones. No modern upgrades (e.g. no usb ports for charging devices).

Hotel in Germany not Switzerland!

Great hotel the room was huge but it could be clearer that the hotel is in Germany and not Switzerland. The reception staff were really helpful and the beer was good :)

One of the lifts was broken which meant I had to wait 20 mins to get downstairs. I have a disability therefore could walk down 9 flights of stairs. Most staff were exceptional except one receptionist who really needs to consider if she doesn’t like the job get another one. Her customer service was terrible. No facilities in the room, no tea/coffee, no standard shampoo etc. didn’t get time fir breakfast due to the lift and having to get a flight but it looked good

Hotel verkommt!

Besuche das Hotel seit Jahren. Es war immer okay. Doch es hat sich einiges verändert. Abgesehen das Hundertschaften der Polizei das Frühstück plündern wurde nicht investiert. Früher wurde bei Abreise ein Wasser gereicht und es gab kostenlosen Kaffee in der Lobby. Beides abgeschafft. Die Zimmer sind stark bewohnt. Leider gab es hier Erneuerung. Im Gegenteil, zum Beispiel die Duschbrause wurde billigst ersetzt und war bereits wieder defekt. Die Böden Sind abgeranzt. Löcher in den Polstern im Restaurant. Der Hammer ist nun das es beim Frühstück nur noch einen Kaffee gibt. Der zweite muss bezahlt werden! Auch an der Rezeption spricht man kein deutsch mehr. Englisch ist hier wichtig. Gefühlt wird hier versucht das letzte Geld aus dem Gast rauszuholen. Ohne mich in Zukunft!!!

Cheap? Yes / Value for money? No

Booked this as close to Autobahn. Positive: Breakfast ok Negative: Quite worn down, room did not have a working toilet. Offered new room as alternative, no option for us an already packed up and part of family sleeping. No other compensation offered, neither during the stay or after the stay.

Back to the 1970s Time travel in Weil am Rhein

A hotel out of the 1970s which unfortunately got stuck in that time. 2 out of 3 elevators were out of order Sofas and chairs in the rooms were worn out I could not really enjoy my stay in Weil am Rhein in rhis hotel On top the hotel grants eberyone just one cup of coffee during breakfast free of charge. The second coffee during breakfast will cost you already moee than 3 Euros

My room was not cleaned and one of the days I didn't have soap, clean towels, the trash was not taken. I had to go down to the reception to look for the towels and the soap. Also, the breakfast buffet included ONLY 1 cup of coffee. If I wanted a second cup of coffee I had to pay for it!!!

I was very disappointed to see the condition of the hotel. Firstly the hotel not in Basel so please be careful when Carat Hotel shows up in your search. Secondly the rooms are very basic, no phone or kettle. Another annoying thing was that only one lift was working and then that too breakdown and didn’t get fixed for two days. It’s understaffed and surrounding isn’t great. Best part was the staff was friendly and helpful. The owner needs to get things in order and bring the hotel to raise the standard.
