Very cool old building in the center of everything. So many little restaurants steps away. Great roof top patio and pool. Great spa and food right there at the hotel. The staff is a 12 on a scale of 1-10!!!

Perfect location

Great hotel right in the heart of Barcelona. Everything you would expect from a 4* hotel. Staff are lovely and helpful, facilities are perfect, breakfast gave you plenty of choices. The jewel in the crown was the roof terrace and pool. A great space for rest and relaxation with great views. Would stay again. Only thing that was slightly annoying was

It is one of the most beautiful properties I've stayed in. There were incredible spaces all around the hotel that were great for just chillaxing. Closed the rooftop pool 3 of the 4 nights - and there was good service and great food up there.

Beautiful, central hotel

Hotel was lovely and very central being situated just off Las Ramblas. We didn’t use any of the facilities or spa with it being a short city break. Beds were very comfortable which was a definite tick after a day of walking / sightseeing for long days. Just a couple of points which honestly didn’t really detract from the hotel but maybe just as an improvement... as female visitors the lighting in the bathroom wasn’t ideal for applying skincare or makeup. Maybe change the lighting out for a brighter lighting. Also front desk / reception upon arrival offers no information on the hotel rooms, mini bar, and area maps, etc. This would have been helpful. We would definitely recommend and re visit.

Stayed here 3. Nights prior to a cruise and enjoyed the rooftop, including live music, the lobby bar, the thermal pool in the lower level and even had one of the best deep tissue massages I’ve ever had. Due to congestion and construction on La Rambla we did have challenges with a couple taxis. But this location was easily walkable down to Barceloneta beach and to the Flamenco show we had booked. Had dinner at a restaurant around the corner and it was superb. Staff were friendly and helpful with all our questions. Highly recommend Hotel 1898!

Good but !

Very conveniently located hotel, on the Rambla, very nice lobby but when you arrive from North America early morning and that NO room are available till 3 pm it means that there is definitely a problem in this hotel management. Furthermore our room was small and obviously no one every tied the shower. The ceiling one is badly located and cannot be use and the telephone one is floading the room. All of that is hard to accept for over 400euro per night. Otherwise the roof top is pleasant and the swimming pool necessary considering the high temperature of this month of june
