Fun-loving types can also have a go at mountain climbing.Don't blow through before you've had a squiz at the Chosun University Museum of Art and May 18 Democracy Square in Gwangju. If you're keen to spend a night or two in Gwangju, consider the Holiday Inn Gwangju and Ramada Plaza Gwangju. Or, you could stay in Mokpo, 55 kilometres to the south of Paek-tong, where you can pick from the Sunshine Motel and Fontana Beach Hotel. Whether you're shooting through or staying in Mokpo, set aside a little time to visit Jeollanamdo Agricultural Museum and Hanyeong Cinema Bowling Center.
Go 85 kilometres northeast and you'll find yourself in Jeonju, a regional centre with a population of 700,000. While you're exploring this neck of the woods, you'll be able to hang your camera 'round your neck and get your tourist on at the Jeonju Zoo, the Sori Arts Center of Jeolla and Miseong Bowling Jang. If you end up hanging out for a while, keep the good time rolling at the Hanji Museum and the Jeonju Korean Traditional Wine Museum.
