I stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott Atlanta Midtown/Georgia Tech and found it to be just an okay experience overall. The location is definitely a plus—being in Midtown makes it convenient for getting around and close to Georgia Tech.
The rooms are spacious, and the suites come with plenty of amenities. The front desk staff was also generally helpful, and I appreciated their responsiveness. That said, this felt more like a budget stay than what I usually expect from this brand because of several maintenance and quality-control issues.
It’s the small details that really need attention: messy caulking around the charger on the nightstand, low water pressure in the shower, and windows that appeared to be spray-painted. Another disappointment was that the sodas I purchased from the lobby store were expired by four months, which was concerning.
Breakfast was also lackluster—very few hot items and essentially a breads-and-cereal bar. On top of that, the rooms were not cleaned or tidied up daily, which was disappointing and added to the overall “budget” feel.
Overall, it’s fine if you want a roomy suite in a great Midtown location, but the lack of upkeep, limited housekeeping, low water pressure, and weak breakfast made it hard to rate higher.
