We loved the property. Although it’s old in a goed way, it was also very clean. We loved the outdoor areas too. You do have to drive a bit to buy your bread but it’s worth it. Details we loved: there was a bottle of good white wine offered to us, if we had a question, like “where can we buy some good wine”, we got their personal list of vineyards and when we ware all admiring the water wheel, the owner took the effort of removing the top cover so we could enjoy the wheel turning. Lovely people! Also, there was firewood waiting in the fireplace, ready to go and there was charcoal available for the bbq. We hope to visit again.

Very cool place! The restaurant was very nice with great service and outstanding food. This is a hidden gem for sure. Clean room, great setting along a small river. Stay here again, yes!

Avallon France hotel of Citotel Avallon Vauban is a good place to enjoy peaceful mind and smell fresh air next to the hotel! Bed and towel all clean replace in time! Nice owner vauban help make trip convenient and feel warm liked at home!

I stayed one night with 2 friends in a triple room - but we were told at the time of booking that we could be provided with 3 single beds. Turned out not to be the case as our room had a double and a single bed and it was not possible to get 3 single beds. We survived that for one night - but cannot accept to share a bed with a double duvet - so asked reception for an extra duvet. The receptionist tried her best but was only able to provide an extra blanket and a sheet - so not ideal. The highlight for us was no doubt the restaurant. They had a very interesting menu and with some delicious food. The salmon starter I had is one of the best starters I have ever tasted in my life - so a big compliment to the chef. The place also had a nice swimming pool but unfortunately we were there on a rainy day - so didn't get to use it.
