Wide-awake at night? Could be that restless spirit of yours! So what are you waiting for? Get up, dust off your passport and book a ticket to Aquila!

Vaduz, 85 kilometres to the northeast, and Canton of Zurich, situated 100 kilometres to the north, are two outstanding cities that are a few hours' drive from Aquila.

Nothing comes close to setting up for a twilight picnic by the ocean. While you're here, travel to Piona Beach, 50 kilometres to the southeast.

You don't have to head too far to find some photo-worthy natural sights. Load up the car and venture over to Mount Titlis, 50 kilometres away from Aquila, for a laid-back day. Or maybe Verzasca Dam tickles your fancy? You'll find it 35 kilometres away.

Sports fans don't need to worry about being left out in the cold during their visit. Ice Hockey Arena Valascia is 20 kilometres away in Ambri and the perfect place to get your sporting fill. Make sure you check the event schedule to find out what's on.

Feel the icy breeze in your hair as you zoom your way down the slopes at Arosa Ski Resort. If you're desperate for more icy action, check out the trails at Laax Ski Resort.

Dongio, 7 kilometres to the south, is popular for St. Peter and Paul Church and Biasca Ice Rink. Why not make your way there and stop by these recommended sights? Or, you could go to Prato, 17 kilometres to the west of Aquila, for the Ritom Funicular and Church of San Giovanni Battista.

Roughly 25 kilometres to the northwest, Tujetsch is a destination that has lots to offer. Lake Toma, the Sedrun-Tgom Gondola and Oberalp Pass are all pretty close. Keep in mind, Alpsu and Mulinatsch-Cuolm Val are also worthwhile.

To really experience a destination is to try the local food and drink, so get ready to nibble, gnaw, slurp and sip your way around Canton of Ticino. The only thing you need to take with you is your appetite!

Chocolate and chestnuts are two popular ingredients in many of the dishes here. If you don't have an appetite for them already, you might by the end of your visit!
