We had issues with water temp. The staff member was combative. It was strange and scary. Other staff was very nice. This hotel was not very clean and when we tried to move to another hotel expedia would not let us

Unhappy

The driver that picked me up at the airport seemed unhappy. I dint know why. No smile. I tipped him regardless. The lady at the check-in counter was so so. I did get a smile out of her. My room was on floor one, one level below the entry level. Looking out the room’s window I see an unpainted plywood wall five feet away with unmaintained grounds in between. I could not see the sky which was blocked out by plywood wall. The window was open and difficult to lock due to the locking mechanism. The room looked drab, carpetting looked old, lamps looked worn, no warm feeling at all whether in the bathroom or the main room. Beds were OK. The room temperature was about 60 degrees. Heater did not work properly. I set the thermostat to 73 degrees and the heater did not turn on. I raised the temp up to 80 degrees. The heater came on but the room temp only came up to 65. I raised the thermostat to 90 and after some time the room temp stayed at 65. When I laid down to sleep I used the blankets from both beds to keep myself warm. Showering in the morning I got warm water quickly. The temperature control was touchy. Once the sweet temp spot was found moving the lever a small bit one way or the other resulted in large temperature changes. Wi-Fi was very slow with a weak signal, with the signal strength going from no bars to one bar in my room. I walked around and found stronger signal was near reception with higher download speeds. I will not stay here again.

A battered hotel with limited service

This hotel, or the part of it in which I stayed when I arrived from the airport, by taxi, at 2:00 A.M., still had its old name, Holiday Inn Express, on it, and the taxi driver wasn't lost. He knew about the hotel's name confusion. (It seems to me that this hotel might have been in various different buildings/locations in the past and, possibly, in the present, as well as under different names). The room I stayed in was in a semi-basement, and the room had been broken into before I arrived. The room's entry door's upper flip-across latch-lock was broken off the door. I was tired and put an old, heavy chair against the door which had pry marks on it and had not been repaired. The breakfast was not served for the full advertised period shown on the pre-arrival letter sent by email from the hotel to me and, apparently, to others. Several people who arrived for breakfast at the advertised time, but after the current one-hour early closure, were not served, even though there was and had been enough food: scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, bread, almonds. I showed my pre-arrival letter's breakfast times to the server and the desk clerk and suggested changes, but change didn't seem possible or under consideration. They only did what they were told. I took the available-by-appointment, free bus to the airport later in the morning.

Rundown and rusty

A rundown hotel that is lacking. Here are a list of the troubles we had at our stay: 1. The room key cards expire every day. We stayed for 4 nights and each day the key card expired having to go back to the front desk to get them to work. 2. Lots of wear and tear. Rusted metal trim around doors. Paint peeling. Wood chipped. Carpet nasty. Mold in the Keureg coffee machine. 3. The first room they assigned us hadn't been cleaned. They apologized and gave us another room. 4. The tub faucets in both rooms were dripping badly. 5. Breakfast was skimpy. Oatmeal was available in the packets. No cream cheese for the bagel. One small toaster for everyone. Juice machine was broken. 6. Lots of things hadn't been updated in years. Mercury switch for controlling the heater unit. I haven't seen that in 30 years.

For the cost during the high season, it is reasonable compared to other hotels. The hotel needs some updates and a deep cleaning. We did have a good night’s sleep.

The desk staff were lovely. The hotel not so much. After 16 hours of travel time to get there- I was worn out. My room had stuff all over the floor and had not been vacuumed. I thought the bathtub had cracks but it was long hairs. Thermostat didn’t work. Next day to airport the Shuttle delayed and delayed so took a taxi with other people. No water available for sale. Had to walk to Wendy’s to get some. Talked to other people going to my ship. One lady arrived at midnight and there was a key issue so they couldn’t get her a room for an extended period of time. Another lady with her mom had someone enter her room at 3 am. Would not stay again or recommend.

We had never stayed here before. We checked in and I asked if we could have a room near the elevator and was told no. I understand if they were completely booked but she didn’t even look. I was then told the gym and pool were not usable. The hotel is being renovated so maybe it will improve but for now I would skip this choice.

The shuttle service was substandard. We waited outside on a chilly evening much longer than we should have for a 1.5 mile distance from the airport— at least 30 mins. The driver and clerk were at odds when we got back to the hotel about the time and number of people he picked up. Our room was for 3 people but there were two bath towels and 2 coffees to brew. On the up side, they serve a wonderful hot breakfast with great coffee and a pleasant cook/attendant.

Terrible experience- they gave me rooms that had not been cleaned , then the keys didn’t work -when I finally got a room that had been cleaned and at least the bed was made it still was dirty holes in chairs and curtains- it was truly an awful experience- I never leave bad reviews but people need to be aware - this place is a disaster!
