Today's the day you pull the plug on Googling cheap holidays and book that Alpuech escape. While there aren't many options to stay downtown, you'll find an amazing hotel a little further out. Suss out our 4 digs within a 10-kilometre radius of Alpuech's centre.

A few of the most central options on offer, the Best Western Le Relais de Laguiole Hotel & Spa and Le Moulin Des Templiers are fantastic places to curl up with a movie in bed after a lively day of incredible adventures.

You might like to look into some other places to stay, such as the Auberge du Barrez or the Brit Hotel du Ban. The former is positioned 20 kilometres from central Alpuech, and the second is 15 kilometres away. If these don't suit, we'd recommend the Hôtel Restaurant Le Casteltinet, which is 35 kilometres from the downtown area.

Everyone knows Aussies just love to have a good time, so consider kicking back a little longer and going to the Aubrac Botanical Garden and Bonnefon Tower in Curieres, 11 kilometres to the south of Alpuech. If you want to spend a few nights in Curieres, consider the Hotel L'Aubrac and Gilles Moreau. Alternatively, you could stay in Campouriez, 20 kilometres to the west of Alpuech, where you can choose from the Hôtel La Rivière and Le Relais du Coustoubi. If you're staying in Campouriez, set aside some time to check out Bez-Bedene and Notre Dame Bridge.

The Fenaille Museum, Rodez Cathedral and Place d'Armes are just a few of the sweet attractions on offer in Rodez. This regional centre is 50 kilometres southwest of Alpuech and has a population of 28,000. Why not also check out what's going on at the Golf du Grand Rodez and the Gallery Sainte-Catherine? There are numerous great hotels available to book in Rodez. Check out the facilities at the La Ferme de Bourran and Mercure Rodez Cathedrale.
