Monastery of Alcobaca was one the first Gothic built in Portugal. It currently houses the Tomb of King Pedro I.
The dormitory is a big Gothic room where the monks slept together: only the abbot was allowed to have his own room. The Alcobaça Monastery is an impressive Medieval Roman Catholic monastery located in the town of Alcobaça. The church and monastery were one of the first Gothic buildings and one of the most important medieval monasteries in Portugal. With a stay at Guesthouse of Alcobaça, you'll be centrally located in Alcobaça, within a 10-minute walk of Alcobaça Monastery and Alcobaca Castle.
Room was nice and had a private bath. Heater or air conditioner with a mini fridge. Only thing I didn’t like there wasn’t staff present at all times at the desk. You need to call.
