Very basic, above a bar/restaurant which is the main business. Clean with comfortable beds but nothing beyond that. Basically no hotel staff all restaurant staff

The hotel is in a great location in Akureyri. Lots of cafes, restaurants and sight seeing options around. However, the room felt was very small and felt claustrophobic. The TV in our room had no internet connectivity so we could not watch anything, and the cable only had 4 channels. If you're looking to just have a place to sleep for the night but no other comforts, this will work. Otherwise, I'd recommend staying somewhere else,

There is no receptionist. You get your key card from the cashier in the restaurant. The room did not match the picture in the advertisement. The queen bed was very comfortable but it was surrounded on 3 sides by walls. My wife has to climb over me to get to the bathroom. There is no desk, TV, night stands or even an elevator. The room has wood floors but housekeeping never sweep under the bed. You can see hair, dust and residue from previous guest. In all our travels, this was one of the worst.

Room was very warm - small electric fan provided

Check-in: The process was smooth and easy. Although the elevator wasn’t available at the time, the staff kindly assisted us with our luggage, which we appreciated. Room: The room did not have a kettle, coffee, or tea, which we’ve usually found in other hotels. There was also no heater, which might be inconvenient during winter. During our stay, the room felt warmer than expected — even with the window open and the small electric fan provided, it was still uncomfortable, as the fan wasn’t quite effective.

I'm not sure what happened here, but upon arrival, the hotel did not have a room for me. They had my information from Expedia, but no longer had a room available. I received messages from the hotel a few days earlier with check in instructions and everything, which led me to believe everything was in order. The clerk checking me in said it was an issue at Expedia and attempted to call them, but said that the message stated that they were "closed". I only had wifi service so couldn't place calls myself. I did the only thing I could and booked a last minute room at Hotel Kea (just around the block) for a significantly higher price. Thankfully they were able to check me in upon arrival! Upon reporting my issues to Expedia when I arrived home, they attempted to reach out to the hotel for a refund and their response to me stated verbatim "even though it was a non-refundable booking, I pushed for more flexibility and they decided to approve your refund." Excuse me? I prepaid for a room months ago, it was not available upon arrival at 5pm on the day of my booking, and Expedia had to "push for flexibility" to get a refund? Honestly I think they should have had to offer a refund plus the difference that I was forced to pay to rebook at the other hotel. I would not recommend this hotel based on this experience. Be careful when booking this hotel!

Great location on a pedestrian mall but that led to a great deal of street noise well into the night. When one nearby business closed down at midnight the noise was cacophonous. Restaurant was excellent.

No staff members were friendly at all, and I interacted with quite a few. No bad interactions; however, I have gotten used to the kindness of everyone in Iceland…and this was not it. The walls were thin, so I heard someone in another room snoring. The hotel didn’t seem to be completely full; however, I was still put at the top of the stairs where everyone passed by my room (and there weren’t many people, so why not put me somewhere else? Preferably away from the snorer…?).

Great location. While I was here they were transitioning into some newly acquired space. Getting around the property was a little odd but of course this will be temporary. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here. The back of the property walks out to public parking and the front walks out to a pedestrian promenade with shops and restaurants.

Have you heard about the birds…

Great place in the middle of town, was a little noisy in the early AM because the birds were fighting over the garbage outside on the ground floor underneath the windows. Otherwise clean and spacious.

We arrived late (maybe around 11pm) and you check in at the restaurant downstairs on the first floor. We were told we were the last guests to arrive, but the hostess was very kind and luckily they had an elevator to our 4th floor room. The room was nice, modern, and the kitchenette even had an oven. After staying our previous 4 nights in small towns or remote rooms, it was fun to see a nightlife on a Saturday night in Akureyri, with lots of people still on the streets as we were checking in. You have to park in the large lot behind the place and walk to it, but it was fine. We attended church Sunday morning at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and it was right next door and wonderful.
