Ever wondered why Central New South Wales is on so many travellers' must-do lists? Well, we reckon its splendid rural landscapes have something to do with it! Stay in Adelong and you'll be in a terrific spot to get out and discover them.

It sits 95 kilometres to the west of Canberra, the capital city of Australia.

Plan a day to stop by Waddy Point, 95 kilometres to the east.

There is a variety of delightful natural sights just outside of Adelong. Why not travel 19 kilometres to Blowering Dam? Alternatively, experience Mother Nature's artwork at Tamut and District Neighbourhood Centre, 14 kilometres away.

Get to know the area's past by visiting Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins.

If your time here happens to coincide with a huge dump of snow, you'll see many local skiers loading up their cars and making their way to Selwyn Snowfields.

Or maybe the Tumut Golf Club and Stockwell Gardens appeal more to you? To visit them, head to Tumut, 14 kilometres to the east.

Spend a while at The Prince Alfred Bridge, the Gundagai Museum and Gundagai Tourist Information Centre. These sights are all not too far from the middle of Gundagai, 30 kilometres to the north. Need something else to do? The Gundagai Golf Course and the Lanigan Abbey should also be on your to-do list.
