Hayman: Australia’s #1 for tropical romance

Are you in the market for a luxe break? A tropical romance escape with swaying palm trees, free-flowing champers and a ridiculously amazing resort pool? Sounds good right.

But before you reach for your passport and check out flights to Bali or Thailand or Fiji, you need to think closer to home. Australia’s own patch of tropical luxury can be found in the naturally stunning Whitsundays. And the jewel in the 74 islands’ crown is arguably Hayman Island – a luxury resort just a short-haul journey away from our Eastern Seaboard cities (perfect for that much needed mini-break).
Here’s my photo diary to entice you away from the delights of your daily grind on a tropical romance escape…

G’day Whitsundays – flying into Hamilton Island (I feel happy already)

Say what?! Yes, that’s our pimped up ride from the airport to Hayman. YOLO!
Not to mention the free-flowing champagne and canapés aboard

Hellooooo tropical beach paradise

Our Lagoon King pad (Room 209)
check out the view from the balcony!

Morning Hayman!

Beach breakfast at Azure restaurant, a buffet breakfast of dreams
Bubbles and Bloody Marys before 9am. Um, yes. I’ll have both…

Playing spot James Packer’s tugboat through the palms

Pool time! I highly recommend the Long Lychee cocktail– fruity, refreshing and a nice alcoholic kick

Hiking up to the resort’s ‘Whitsundays viewpoint’

Private boat trip to Blue Pearl Beach 2

Chartering our own catamaran (all non-motorised water sports are free)

Beachside sundowner (as seen from our own cabana)

Dinner at Oriental – the island’s Asian restaurant
Schezwan chicken with cashews and a side of steamed veg (yum!)

Happy Birthday in chocolate (arguably the best way to say Happy Birthday) at Trattoria – the resort’s Italian restaurant

After dinner billiards in Club Lounge (as you do)

Last day breakfast. Don’t. Want. To. Leave.

Going all out with pancakes, ice-cream, butterscotch and blueberry compote

Home-time made slightly better with million-dollar yacht and free-flowing champers (again)

So long Hayman, we’ll be back
