Charity auction raises over $7000!
We are super excited to announce that our online charity auction last week raised over $7000, with 100% of the proceeds going to our charity partner.
The auction, timed to coincide with International Orangutan Caring Week, was in aid of The Australian Orangutan Project (AOP), a not-for-profit organisation that does amazing things in supporting orangutan conservation, rainforest protection and the reintroduction of orphans in order to save the species from extinction.
With over 350 bids made over the five days, $7000 raised for AOP and one item even going for an amount greater than its value(!), we reckon it’s safe to say that both our fans and supporters of the AOP were instrumental in making our first charity auction a major success.
You may remember that earlier in the year, we adopted our very own orangutan, Miriam, so this is definitely a cause the lastminute lovelies are well and truly behind.
To find out more about the AOP and perhaps make a donation or adopt an orang-utan of your own, please visit: www.orangutan.org.au
Massive thanks from the lastminute lovelies to every single person who bid on one of the items and congratulations to the successful bidders!
We must also say a heartfelt thank you to all of our hotel partners who generously donated prizes:
