9 reasons why you need Aruba’s Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort in your life

Aruba is home to some seriously fabulous hotels and resorts. But if you want to stay somewhere really special, I recommend the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort. Here’s why.

1. A taste of history

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is a boutique stay within a contemporary-styled Dutch colonial building. Its bright colours – particularly the sunshine yellow beautifully contrasted against a bold white trim – perfectly complement its seaside location. You can’t help but feel happy!

2. Easy access to Eagle Beach

Eagle Beach is one of the world’s best beaches. It’s uncrowded and pristine, with endless peace. Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is just opposite (it will take you less than three minutes to get there from your room), and a short walk across white-powder sand will soon see you swimming in the turquoise Caribbean Sea. In fact, Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is so close to Eagle Beach that your phone will stay connected to the hotel’s free wifi, so you can stay connected and do a social live-stream to generate some real-time envy (like I do 😉). And as a bonus, Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort guests also get free access to palapas and sunchairs.

3. Family-friendly full-service apartments with private balconies

Some may think Aruba is an adults-only kinda destination, but the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is perfect for families too. With its full-service apartment amenities, it really is like a home away from home. The suites and penthouses come with fully equipped kitchens (which include toasters and normal plug-in kettles – trust me, these aren’t always easy to come by!), while the studios come with generous kitchenettes. Many rooms also come with private balconies, so you can watch the sunset from the comfort of your own suite. Pro tip: If you’re booking on lastminute.com.au, look for the room types marked ‘Room with a view’.

4. Breakfast until 11am

I tend to skip breakfast on holidays, not by choice, but rather because I’m a snoozer and always miss the breakfast run. Luckily for me, Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort’s restaurant, Mango’s, serves breakfast until 11am. Thanks to that, I manage to have breakfast every. single. morning. #feelingaccomplished

5. There’s a jacuzzi bath tub – I repeat, a jacuzzi bath tub!

If you stay in one of the two-bedroom suites, you’re in for a treat – the ensuite in the master bedroom has a jacuzzi spa. There’s no better way to unwind (even more) than to sit back in a jacuzzi and mellow out with the blissful massage of the jet streams.

6. Trick or treat? No, the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort is simply a treat

Housekeeping brings the festivities of Halloween (minus the spooky stuff) to your room every night of the year by dropping off some sweet treats (perfect for those of us who have a late-night sweet tooth). I’ll keep the surprise of what the sweet treats are – you’ll have to visit yourself to find out 😉

7. Passions on the Beach

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort’s beachside restaurant, Passions on the Beach, takes dinner with a view to a whole new level. A live violinist, white-clothed tables spread across the equally white beach (where you can sit with your feet in the sand), fairy lights wrapped around palm trees, all overlooking the ocean… Yep, the ambience is on point. To really up the romance stakes, book your seating for just before sunset – the view is magical. With nature as your show, there’s also plenty of variety on the menu, whether you feel like a refreshing salad, fresh seafood, or some hearty meat. I opt for the evening’s special, which is freshly baked salmon, prawns, and clams. Yum!

8. An on-site mini mart

Yep, you read that right. Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort has its own mini mart, which is super helpful for topping up on essentials, as well as snacks and souvenirs.

9. Fun for the thrill seekers

Not all of us are content to just lay by the gorgeous beach all day. If that sounds like you, the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort has got you covered. If you need an adrenaline fix, hire a jet ski from the activities desk at reception. There are other activities too, including half-day tours and yacht cruises. Aruba locals highly recommended Baby Beach, a shallow, sheltered and totally safe man-made swimming spot. It’s definitely worth checking out!
