So you’ve survived the racing carnival fashion dilemmas and now you’re preparing yourself for the onslaught of Christmas and the New Year, otherwise known as party frock time! I love a great Christmas party. It can be a rambunctious office Christmas party, right up to a chic, black tie Christmas dinner at a fabulous hotel with glittering city views. The thing that all these events have in common is that you need to turn up the glam volume to high.

The swirl of party season can be frenetic and crazy making, and it takes a lot of social stamina to get through the entire palaver in style. So just how do you maintain the glamour factor this party season?

I have found three glamorous pieces that will guarantee to have you frolicking in festive fabulousness from now till when Santa arrives. A pash under the mistletoe may not be on your Santa wish list, but you might just get one anyway…

Rule one: ‘Tis the season of the cocktail, the cocktail party and, of course, the Cocktail Dress! If you haven’t already found this season’s ultimate Little Black Dress – GO SHOPPING NOW.

The LBD is the basis of your killer yuletide wardrobe, so get one. Whichever of the key trends of the season works for you – micro short, sheer, ladylike – choose a frock that flatters your body the best and makes you purr with fabulousness.

Rule two: By now most of you know that I am the King of Bling in Australia and this is the best time of year to bring on the bling! Choose accessories that dazzle and shine like a fabulous jet set star atop the tree. Diamante earrings, crystal neck harnesses, jewelled cuffs, huge cocktail rings and all things sparkly… pile them on for festive fun.

Remember if you’re rocking a fully bejeweled dress, keep your hair sleek and makeup minimal and go with a neutral pump, a palm sized clutch.

Rule three: The promise of a good party is measured by the height of the heels you wear. So go for gold, or silver, or embellished with jewels. Try on platforms, peep toe and shoes with straps. I don’t mind really, just make them HIGH! The party season is NOT the time to wear comfortable shoes – if your feet hurt, order another cocktail and hit the dance floor.

Wishing you all the glamour you can stand for a Very Perry party season!
