21 reasons to stay at Elements of Byron
If you fall into the ‘a quick decision is a good decision’ camp when choosing which hotel to book in a destination, you can skip the rest of this post: Elements of Byron is the must-stay spot in Byron Bay.
If however you’re more of a ‘stalk hotel Instagram check-ins, read every review, give-me-all-the-details’ kind of person, then I’ve got you covered with 21 reasons you should pick the newest kid on the block.
1. It’s beachfront luxury at its best
Chances are if you’re going to Byron, you’re interested in some serious beach time and that’s made super easy with Elements’ absolute beach frontage – almost two kilometres of it! – on Belongil Beach. The Beach Club right on the sand (and exclusive to guests) isn’t too shabby either.
2. It’s brand new
Opening in February 2016, everything about this property is gloriously new. So there’s zero chance of the telltale signs – well-loved towels, pool needing a little TLC etc – of a hotel that’s been around for a while but maybe not focused on upkeep. As part of AccorHotel’s boutique MGallery collection of pretty damn special hotels, you know it’s got the luxe factor.
3. A breakfast menu that’s not boring
Brekkie can look exactly the same wherever you go – especially at hotels looking to please the masses – but the Drift Kitchen team step it up a notch. Despite the variety, it was hard not to order the soft scrambled eggs with crab, crème fraiche and avocado on sourdough every day! If I could have that dish in Sydney every weekend I would.

4. The cabanas are on point
After breakfast, nab yourself a spot poolside in one of the many cabanas that surround the pool and lounge, swim, repeat to your heart’s content.
5. Location, location, location
We’ve covered that it’s beachside, but Elements’ positioning about 10 minutes from the town is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet escape. There’s also plans to fully refurbish a 100-seat, two carriage heritage train which will run the 3km journey between the resort and township so you can have the best of both worlds. And bonus, Elements is only a five minute drive from the fabulous The Farm and Three Blue Ducks restaurant

6. The staff are super lovely
Some high-end properties come with an attitude to match but the Elements team are friendly, helpful (with everything from a late check-out to Byron tips) and personable, with many making an effort to remember your name and favourite beverages.
7. Speaking of beverages, they’re the goods
At the bar, you’re spoilt for choice with unique cocktails including this beauty featuring eucalyptus.
8. The pool has the wow factor
The luxurious infinity lagoon pool precinct is both huge and gorgeously designed and a centerpiece for the resort.

10. You can take your pick from beach or lagoon villas
And don’t be fooled by their simplicity on the outside. The 94 villas (with 96 more to come in stage two) are styled perfectly for a laidback beachy stay with a modern stylish design.
11. With one and two bedroom options, Elements can accommodate any type of trip
Romantic getaway, family escape, girl’s weekend – you’re covered. I especially love the self-contained kitchen in the two bedder.
12. You can park outside your villa
It’s not a deal breaker but there’s something nice about having your own car spot right in front of your villa, not having to fight it out in a huge carpark and lug your bags to your room.

15. Yoga + beach views + sunrise = perfection
If you’d rather be near the beach but not on it at sunrise, take advantage of the complimentary beachside 6.30am yoga.
16. A poolside kiosk means you don’t even have to leave when you’re hungry or thirsty
The appropriately named poolside ‘Barefoot Kiosk‘ serves great options like lobster rolls, flatbread, crab stuffed doughnuts and my personal fave, the guacamole. And of course vino and cocktails – hot tip, go the Mullum Mule with ginger kombucha.
17. If movies are your thing, they’re not ridiculously expensive
Settle in for the night on your comfy couch and pay $5.95 per movie including plenty of new releases, much more reasonable than the crazy $15.95 another Aussie property I stayed at recently was charging.
18. The smart design in the rooms gives it a high-tech feel
Things like an easy one touch room exit button, power-points actually in the places you want them and a tablet in place of an old-school guest services book are low-key high-tech wins for guests that make your stay super convenient. A big thumbs up too for the blinds that block out all light when you’re in need of a power nap or sleep in!
19. The onsite restaurant is amazing for dinner
At Graze you’ll be treated to local seasonal produce and what’s not to love about just having to stroll back to your villa after a wine or two with dinner? Extra points for the mesmerizing fire pit that sits poolside.
20. There are plenty of facilities to keep you active
Get your Federer on with the tennis court, hit the outdoor training circuit or head to the gym.
21. And after all that activity, book in a massage or facial at the onsite spa
