Tired campers after our stay here.

The sofa bed was awful! It tipped at an angle (so your head was lower than your legs), the springs were horrendous, we didn't sleep at all. Main bed was fine and standard. Massive cobwebs all over the curtain boxing, on the outside. The TV was on the blink so we couldn't adjust the volume and occasionally wouldn't change channel. Breakfast was fine but not the best compared to other hotel chains of similar market. Loud doors so we could hear everyone coming and going all night. Check in guy was nice!

Expensive for what you get.

The room was ok but in real term a bit small for a family, with no space to open your luggage really. Beds and bathroom were clean and as you'd expect for a holiday inn. However there was no restaurant on sight as we'd expected from the amenities list on the hotels.com website and we never got feedback from the hotel when we emailed to asked. So all in all, quite expensive from what you get.

Basic but adequate accommodation. Reliance on pub next door for food and drink, and that rather scruffy and down market. Sign saying the reason for lack of attention to the outside "feeding the bees".... just an excuse for doing nothing to keep the area tidy. Poor impression of the whole place.

Brilliant find.

Staff were really friendly and accommodating. Child friendly, quiet hotel. Great breakfast with lots of choice and good quality. Rooms were clean and very practical for a family with one double bed and one sofa bed. Great location, two mins drive from park and ride which is an 8 mins bus ride into the centre of York. Hotel also 2 min drive to big shopping complex including Hollywood bowl and an Asda.

ok stop over

Staff were lovely and friendly however, room very noisy, you could hear everything next door and in the corridor. TV - only a few channels, no BBC1 or ITV1! by the time i found this out it was too late
