Julie and Allan were incredible hosts! They were so personable and friendly and helped in any way we needed it. They made breakfasts to order and the room was comfortable and clean. The location was perfect as it was very close to the center of town. We highly recommend booking with this lovely place!

A very pleasant, clean & comfortable place to stay just five minutes walk from the Minster & city centre. There is a homely feel to the place and the proprietors were both friendly & efficient. There was a good choice of breakfast items & the full English was superb. Would definitely stay here again.

We had an excellent stay. Julie and Alan are the most amazing hosts & people you will meet. If you are looking for a 5* hotel with gym and saunas this place aint for you. If you are looking for a clean local guest house 5 min from Minster with hosts who will go above & beyond the this is everything you could ask for. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your home. First visit to York.

The location to city centre was excellent. 10 minutes walk to city centre, On arrival Allan and Julie were very helpful and accommodating and explained how everything worked. The cooked Breakfast was fantastic and just as we had asked. The room was a reasonably size and had a high ceiling, and was decoratively well kept, but even with the heating off the room was quite hot at night. But we did have warm weather during the day, The down side: we are use to a soft bed and pillows. For us these were too hard and uncomfortable. Also one guest decided to open and slam there door for about ten minutes on the second and third night. We couldn’t fault the knowledge and enthusiasm of the owners. Lovely people.

Fantastic times

Absolutely Fantastic, Allan and Julie are a fantastic couple,nothing was to much trouble very friendly homely and spotlessly clean.Will definitely be going back. Close to city wall easy walk to the shambles and Minster .

The City Guest House is a perfect place to for a short stay. Julie and Alan the owners were very welcoming and we found our room comfortable, spotlessly clean. A very good breakfast and buffet kept us going for most of the day.
