Arrived close to closing time and was warmly greeted by publcan, staff and pub regilars.
Felt safe and was well fed at breakfast time. Nice to hear other guests talking about their intended visitsof the day.
Publican helpful with my additional enquiries and offered suggestions of taxis to get to and from a venue..
Lovely lunch eaten after checking out.
Beer Garden well looked after and village was nice to wander around with further walks suggested, if required.
The place is cared for.
Would go again 8f opportunity arises.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
I stayed in a single room. Was clean and the mattress was comfy. I would have liked a chair and a fan in the room. Toiletries and tea-making facilities. Landlord apologised for the building works taking place on the pub. I had a good fish dinner. Didn't explore the village but looks pretty and a lot of locals use the pub. No car park but seems to be an adequate availability of street parking. Short drive to Kelmscott.
The property requires a lot of maintenance inside and out. The pictures need an update! Parking is on the road where available. The rooms have recently been painted, but still only a two star standard.

Needs some finishing touches
The owner reduced the rate prior to the visit due to ongoing building works. We had no issue with this as only staying one night. But the walkways to and from the rooms were untidy and messy, even though the building works are happening this could have been kept a bit tidier. The room was freshly decorated, but the tv didn’t work, there is no overhead light only two small wall lights one of which doesn’t work, the blind does not cover the window so at 4am it was very bright in the room. The bathroom radiator was thick with dust, presumably from recent decorating, the previous persons empty shower gel was still on the top of the shower cubicle. All these are easy fixes and if sorted would make a nice stay. The breakfast was very nice and the landlord was pleasant.
We stayed in Room 4 arriving on 16th April. Toilet found to have feces in it and not cleaned properly! Carpet in room not vaccumed. Mirror in bathroom had fallen and was located on sink not secured. Only window to room had 90 degree slats fitted on exterior. Room very dark. Unable to open window that had a large amount of dirt to its outside and building had scaffolding to its exterior as a roof repair was due to take place shortly.
The crash bar to the fire escape door that was the only point of entry broke as we exited!
In all very poor and should not have been advertised!
A pump for the water was located in the roof space close to the room and provided a lovely wake up call at 6:30 am due to its loud noise as other residents used water!
Manager not present as night off!
Lovely spot, clean tidy friendly and the breakfast was spot on. Definitely be back. Thank you
And mustn't forget Great Guinness

The Bell Inn. Could Do Better.
A quick stayover in the village of Ducklington to see family. The pub was ok, but it needs a really good clean. The room was the same and basically two double beds in a double room to make a family room, the beds were however perfectly nice, warm and comfortably but again, the room just needed a really good clean. The facilities were basic at best but ok for a stayover. The staff were friendly but you can see it was run on minimum staff. For example, the breakfast chef was chef, server, and the only person there in the morning. The town, pub and place are perfectly pleasant but lacking cleanliness in our opinion. Even something as simply as our evening meal table hadn't been fully cleared by the time we came for breakfast
The staff were so friendly, as well as the locals in the pub.
Breakfast was great as well as evening food.
Couldnt find fault with this beautiful little place, within easy reach of getting arould by car.
Enjoyed a comfortable at The Bell Inn.
Very Olde Worlde. We had breakfadt and an evening meal on our two night stay. The food and produce used were excellent and the breakfast really was plentiful and first class. The Landlord seemed to wear several different hats and was most welcoming and polite in everything he did. We found the room, although dated, very clean and hygienic. We would not hesitate to stay again bext time qe are that way on.
The only downside was the BLOODY SCAFFOLDING.

Roof Renovations going on
no real parking spaces park at end of street
tired restaurant & room needs renovating poor shower staff & food & bar good
The Bell is a 17th-century inn with a wealth of original fearures and a lovely open fire. However, it was lacking in atmosphere and the evening meal we had was not great and quite expensive too. Our room was comfortable and clean but the heated towel rail wasnt working and bathroom mirror was off the wall. It was also a bit dark and claustophobic as there were permanent shutters over the window. On the plus side, the cooked breakfast was excellent and the host was keen to make sure we had everything we needed. The location is also very pretty and close to Oxford, Blenheim, Witney and the wider cotswolds. It was good value, given its location, but I'm not sure we'd stay there again.
Very comfortable. Radiator not working but portable heater provided that heated up room very well on a very cold night. No toilet roll (easy oversight) but nicked roll from adjacent room! Breakfast outstanding! Great place for breaking long journey!
Traditional ole English pub/lodge set in a cute wee vilage

One night manageable
The staff member who welcomed us was friendly and helpfully showed us to the room. However acess to it was outside via a poorly lit metal staircase, which would've been a nightmare to go down if there had been a fire as it had no contrast edging.
The room hadn't been heated and it took a while to get the room warm once we'd turned the radiator on. The shower cubicle door couldn't be fully opened as the toilet wa too close, but everything was very clean and the bed comfy.
The dining area at breakfast smelt awful probably because the pub is small and had no doors between different areas. The food was no more than ok and there was no-one around when we came to leave, so we just left the key on the bar.
