Built from traditional Cotswold stone in the 1800s, the cottage overlooks a remarkable garden created by an Oxford University tree specialist, home to many rare and unusual trees. With 1.5 acres to explore, guests can wander through the
gardens and discover the many unusual and beautiful trees.
Beyond the garden lies a Site of Special Scientific Interest where orchids bloom in spring and early summer. Guests are welcome to walk through the area when grazing permits.
Inside, the cottage blends heritage character with modern comfort. The accommodation includes a spacious en suite bedroom, an elegant sitting room,
and a fully equipped kitchen featuring a Neff oven, dishwasher, washer-dryer, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, GRIND coffee machine, and BOSE Bluetooth speaker, along with beautiful Daylesford tableware for relaxed countryside
dining.
Natural stone and parquet flooring, organic cotton bedding, a Herdysleep mattress and wool duvets from Devon Duvet ensure exceptional comfort. Local artwork and pottery reflect the cottage’s Cotswold setting, while Bramley toiletries are provided in
the bathroom.
Seasonal cut flowers from the garden’s cut-flower beds are placed in the cottage for guests to enjoy, bringing a little of the surrounding garden indoors. When available, seasonal produce from the garden may also be available to purchase during your
stay.
Guests will also find a curated guide in the cottage highlighting some of the owners’ favourite hidden gems across Oxford and the wider Cotswolds — from lesser-known walks and historic sites to excellent pubs and local spots worth discovering.
A welcome pack awaits on arrival, including fresh milk, eggs and honey from the garden apiary.
Private parking is available for two cars on a shared driveway with the owner who lives in the main house next door. Two friendly dogs live in the main house and may come to say hello.
