The room was fine, the hotel was ok, and priced reasonably however after not being able to sleep my husband and I took a walk at 330 am and encountered someone who was having a sexual encounter in the laundry/steps area. HELLO this is a HOTEL! At that I suspect 2 workers working 11-7 shift, can’t be certain as I spoke my mind without looking at them, about the disgust of having that occur! Being it was quite her moaning sounded like she was next us! Besides that the hall smelt like weed coming from the mechanic room. When we sat in the lobby to address this for 30 minutes, the front desk attendant did not come out, he did not address my husband and I when front desk phone was ringing off the hook and he walked out for a second and immediately went into the back again. No manager this morning to address my concerns when I went back to desk attendant 630 around breakfast but a note was taken by another front desk female attendant who stated a manager was not available and I would be called tomorrow being it is Monday. We felt the need to document the way we left the hotel room with video and photos in case any issues arise after making the complaint. They did have someone spray the hall not long after reporting the smell of weed in the A.M. to front desk lady. Hopefully I hear from the manager, this was the most unrelaxed, sleepless night, I have had in a hotel in my life! Pool looks dirty may just be the age of it. Room was clean but older and musty. I requested an extra blanket and the front desk attendant said they'd bring one up and never did. The free breakfast was cold boxed scrambled eggs and microwave sausages along with dry cereal and some strange bagels.

Upon arrival, I immediately noticed several issues with the accommodations: • A persistent mechanical or structural noise that made it nearly impossible to sleep. • A “full breakfast” that lacked even basic items such as milk for cereal and coffee, and the powdered eggs served were cold and lumpy. • Most distressing of all, I discovered bed bugs in the room, which I documented on video. When I reported these problems to the front desk, I received no meaningful assistance or resolution. The staff appeared unconcerned and offered no compensation or alternative accommodations.

I stayed at Best Western Plus, Newark/Christiana, Bear, DE for one night and had a wonderful experience. The hotel was spotless, comfortable, and very welcoming. The check-in process was quick, and the staff were professional, friendly, and attentive. My room was clean, quiet, and well-equipped with a cozy bed, mini-fridge, and microwave. The complimentary breakfast offered a nice variety of options and was a great start to the day. The location is convenient—right off I-95 and close to restaurants and shops. Overall, this hotel offers excellent value, great service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling through the area.
