Midcentury Modern Masterpiece - 4bedroom Home in Whanganui

This iconic 1960 family home was designed by local architect Don Wilson, a student of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The midcentury modern design features a cantilevered terrace, non-load bearing exterior walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, and built-in furniture. It has been beautifully maintained and tastefully restored, with original features like the stereogram, curved wooden panelling and louvered windows. The Wilson House won the 2014 NZIA Enduring Architecture award.

The house is shaped like an "H" - upstairs on one wing are three of the bedrooms. The master bedroom (king) has an ensuite. The kitchen and living areas are on the other side of the house, and open up onto the deck. Downstairs is the fourth bedroom (queen) with an adjoining bathroom, a dedicated workspace, and TV room.
Make yourself comfortable in this vacation home, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected. Conveniences include a microwave and an electric kettle.
