About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

The Honey Barn & Honey House LLC

NEW gorgeous open floor plan barn cabin for rent. Beautiful Kickapoo Valley location with excellent fishing and wildlife right outside your door. A quiet place to relax yet close to many activities for the whole family. Bike Trails, Kickapoo River Canoeing & Kayaking. Spring brings the ephemerals. Wildflowers push their way through the leaves on the forest floor, and with them, the delicacies of spring—morel mushrooms, fiddlehead ferns, and ramps. Hundreds of bird species begin their migration up the Mississippi Flyway and through contiguous forests. Trout fishing begins and turkey hunters prowl the woods.

The Driftless Area is known for its trout streams. Class I streams like Timber Coulee that flows from Westby through Coon Valley towards Chaseburg, or the West Fork of the Kickapoo River, flowing through Bloomingdale and Avalanche, have the type of high quality waters to sustain natural populations of brook and brown trout.

Road Touring

A favorite activity of both visitors and residents is a leisurely drive through the countryside, along roads that wind through farmsteads, natural areas, and small towns. Whether the lacy green of early spring, the greens and golds of summer, the riot of fall colors, or the still white of winter, the colors and hues of the landscape are definitely worth the trip and you will always remember your Wisconsin road tours in the Driftless area.

The Driftless Wisconsin Road Tours Experience

You can enjoy the small family farms, the traditional barns (fast disappearing), and the dairy herds that graze up to the forest’s edge. You can drive along a river’s edge, and see sand hill cranes in a courting dance, or bald eagles filling the trees like regal ornaments. You can stop in a small town for a bite to eat, shop for a hand-crafted art object, or fill a bag to the brim with local produce.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace. There's a private balcony. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

We rent the Honey House for our friends/visitors to stay at when they come to the area. It is a great way to let them feel It was warm, inviting, and thoughtfully prepared—every detail felt like it was designed to help them relax. Evenings were especially serene, with the soothing sound of crickets and the occasional glimpse of wildlife just beyond the trees. A small creek nearby added to the peaceful charm, making morning walks feel extra special. If you’re looking for a quiet escape surrounded by nature, this is it.

I really enjoyed my time at the Honey House. The property is stunning. The house is spacious and cozy and had every amenity I needed while I was there. I decided to sleep in the loft upstairs so I could gaze out of the skylight. Although the weather wasn't as cooperative as I had hoped, it would still a fun experience. My favorite part of the day was relaxing on the porch in the late afternoon and listening to and watching the birds. It was such a peaceful experience.Rick was very quick to respond to my one question before I arrived. He emailed me after my stay and asked me if I enjoyed my visit. Such a gracious host! The towns of Westby and Viroqua are nearby. Both places had great diners, coffee shops, and very friendly people. This trip was worth the drive from Milwaukee. I'm hooked on country life!

Very lovely location. Cabin was nicely decorated - great mix of new and antiques. Comfortable beds! Kitchen had everything you need to cook or grill. Close enough to the absolutely adorable Town of Westby for a coffee run or shopping. WiFi and tv were a nice bonus. Enjoyed seeing the Amish buggies and horses coming and going. Great yard and patio spaces.

Peaceful getaway

Check-in was seamless as was everything about our stay. Even during 90 plus degree heat we stayed nice and cool. The cabin is very quiet and we enjoyed listening to birdsong and owls and observing all the small wildlife around. We used the fire pit and grill which really made this a perfect summer stay in the Driftless. We hope to come back and wished we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful, Quiet, and Relaxing

We spent a couple of nights at the Honey Barn. This was a family getaway with three generations and six people. The barn worked out great for our stay. Rick was great to work with, and communicated promptly with any questions we had. The barn is quiet, cozy, and has a wonderful relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch. The barn is 15 minutes from town where it's easy to get to restaurants and grocery stores. The area roads are amazing for cruising. We definitely recommend!

Hirse, buggies and fireflies!

Being in an Amish area, we enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching multiple horse and buggies driving by with drivers waving. We had rain our entire stay, so were not able to enjoy the firepit or gas fire table on patio. But we grilled out on the gas grill and made use of the covered porch. Fireflies abound everywhere - our own silent fireworks show! We'll be back again...

Relaxing ladies trip

This was a beautiful and tranquil location. We loved waking up and just sitting on the rocking chairs in the cool mornings. We saw rabbits and deer from the front porch! Close enough to town to enjoy some bumming around. This is just what we needed. Thank you!
