The hotel location is perfect and the hotel is very clean. Spotless! You can walk everywhere, although I believe its the same for most downtown hotels. The hotel itself is average. Nothing special about the hotel itself. They changed our room to a smaller room last minute but did credit us. Not ideal with 3 teen sons. No one helped us with our luggage on check-in, the valet was talking for 5 minutes when we pulled up - I had to get out of the car to get his attention, the blow dryer was horrible and actually burnt my hair, the bathroom sink was SO small (seriously like Barbie Doll size). Honestly, if the hotel wasnt rated 5 stars I would think it was fine, but with a 5 star rating my expectations were higher. Rooms are definitely not ideal for more than 2 people. We did love DC though. Amazing city with so much to offer. You dont end up spending much time in the hotel anyway...

Booked through Expedia and were informed on checkin that because we had, we would not be getting the ‘monument’ suite we booked but would be placed 1 floor below in another suite, and we would receive a $60 credit to use for “room charges”, which meant we had to either eat or drink at the hotel. The other suite turned out to be fine, but the attitude was of concern. The hotel is ok, great location, food at Vue the rooftop bar/restaurant was good, specialty cocktails expensive. Concierge was hit or miss, sometimes 2 or 3 people other times none. Always a line for the elevators. Service staff excellent, room had some issues, bedroom thermostat was installed badly, managed to get it working, weird automation system that turned lights and tvs on at strange times, shower leaked at hinge,

With this property you must bring more than you thought in money!!.. Everything is over priced!!.. The couples massage is not for a couple it’s per person… Horrible experience at checkout.. I came with the intent to spend money not be overly charged for everything.. Staff and facilities was nice but again.. Super overpriced..

Would love to give a 5. Everything was amazing except bar was lacking, elevators were very slow and got congested and service was spotty. At times phenomenal at times not so much. Would stay there again.

we loved the hotel and the location!

wow! wow! wow! it was absolutely amazing to stay right across the street from the white house. we saw the comings and goings of everything...several motorcades. we had kids with us so we never made it to the rooftop bar. our elevator made a stop there, and we saw an amazing view for 30 seconds. OMAR in the FIRECLAY RESTAURANT deserves a special shout out. he is so friendly (not overly friendly) and attentive. we looked forward to seeing him every time we went by...we left before breakfast on our last day, and i ran by to say goodbye. we would definitely stay here again...in a heartbeat.
