Disappointment

Unfortunately my room was in an "annex", across the breezway entrance to the hotel. The condition and security of this building was substandard. The heat/ac unit was extremely noisy, the street outside was also extrmely noisy, and the door to my room actually had two hinges break, making it impossible to close the door until the maintenance person came to fix it. It appeared to have failed previously as well, since only two screws (of 4) were in each of the hinge plates. The lobby was nice, I am guessing the main building was in better shape. Breakfast is $25, which is over the top for a hotel of this level. I won't be going back

Poor maintenance

The hotel is very old and poorly maintained. During our stay, the shower and taps were not working. The door were broken in our bathroom. The floor were not vacuumed on a daily basis.

The property is large and nice. You can tell that in the rooms they were renovated cheaply. Still a great stay with great views of the Washington Monument. We flew in and were able to walk to restaurants and such.
