Live like a local in the heart of DC's vibrant Shaw neighborhood!

This completely renovated turn of the century rowhome offers high speed WiFi, a workspace, private deck, fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, and full-size washer and dryer.

There are three bedrooms: one has a king bed and two have queen beds. Two bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, with a third full bathroom in the hall directly across from the other bedroom.

This gorgeous rowhome was built in 1900 and has been completely renovated to include all the comforts of modern living.

The main level boasts a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen, a private deck, a large, open living and dining area, a light and bright workspace, full-size washer and dryer, and a half bathroom.

Upstairs you'll find three spacious bedrooms, two with en suite bathrooms, and a third full bathroom.

I live in the lower level unit (completely separate, with its own entrance), should you need anything at all during your stay. You might see me walking in, but will give you your space with a nice hello!

Stroll down tree-lined streets to one of the many nearby coffee shops, eateries, or watering holes.

There are two nearby Metro stops: Shaw-Howard U (Green and Yellow Lines) is two blocks away and NoMa-Galludet U (Red Line) is four blocks away.

There is also a bus stop in the same block and a Capital Bikeshare station in the next block.

Fireplaces are decorative only.
• Guests within a 50-mile radius of DC must message us before booking.

• No parties, pre-games, or events. Visitors are limited to one to two close friends or family members.

• Quiet hours are in effect from 10PM to 8AM every day.

• Loud speakers are not allowed for playing loud music at any time.

• Shoes are not permitted inside the house. Homeowner lives downstairs on the property and can hear the steps.

• No smoking allowed, with a violation fee of $300 per night.

• Additional overnight guests beyond the reservation will incur a fee of $30 per person per night.

• Unauthorized late checkouts past 11:00 AM will incur a fee of $100 per extra hour to cover the cost of cleaning.

• Any mess left behind that requires a deep cleaning will result in a fee of $200 to cover the cost of cleaning.

Nice place for a DC visit

Nice comfortable place outside the hustle and bustle of downtown with reasonable access to DC sights, tours, museums and restaurants. Would stay here again.

Perfect little spot

We had a great time here! We were able to check in early, and offered a late check out if our flight had any delays. Plenty of space for five of us. All with seperate bathrooms. Our host was very accomodating and easy to reach if we needed them. We were very close to the metro which was amaxing for what we wanted to see. I would definitely stay here again!

House flooded and the owner lives on site

Despite VRBO guaranteeing the whole house to yourself the owner lives in the basement whilst you are there. In addition he leaves signs warning people to be quiet and watch your footsteps as it disturbs him, and to only leave the AC on 73 degrees. Leaves you walking on eggshells from the beginning. The upstairs bathroom flooded in the 2nd week of our stay, my family on the day of my wedding had to emergency relocate to a hotel. Not only that, the owner felt it was ok to demand answers from me on my wedding day. I would absolutely recommend NOT staying here. We were offered a one day refund which is absolutely derisory.

DC work trip - comfortable stay!

Stayed at this property as we were too late to book conference hotels, and it turned out to be a great choice. Plenty of room for 3 of us to have our own space, cool building & neighborhood, and less than 10 min car ride to downtown. Very easy check-in/out. Highly recommend!

Great apartment

The apartment is extremely nice and very clean, just as described and pictured. James is very accommodating and communicative. However, We didn’t like the walk to and from the Shaw metro or riding the local bus. We didn’t really have any problems, we just didn’t feel safe at times. If you are willing to Uber in and out I would recommend staying here. I parked my vehicle on the street and didn’t have any problems. Wonderful apartment, mediocre location.

Great space, fit our needs perfectly!

There were 4 of us including one age 85 and another age 91! The listing's photos accurately display the property and its features. The stairs within the unit are quite steep, so holding onto the rail and being careful was the way to go. The kitchen is very well equipped, though seemingly designed for giants ;-) ! We loved that the living room had enough sofa/chairs to provide everyone a comfy spot. Not a negative, a suggestion: add some grab-bars and anti-slide features to the bath tubs. Great experience overall and communication with owner was very good. Would recommend.

While the location was excellent the house was lacking. Broken tiles and door handles, lightbulbs out and very large insects (cockroaches). Nicer furniture and some attention to detail would vastly improve this property. For the same price we have experienced much better value at other properties.

Good property in good location - a few minor issues

Extended family stay for 4 nights. The house is on a fairly busy road and the noise can be an issue in the front bedroom but it’s much quieter at the rear. In general the house was really good but could benefit from a few minor bits of sorting out - the blinds in one of the bedrooms don’t extend all the way down, there are a few bits of decoration needed (gaps between tiles in a bathroom etc) and there was a leaky window which let in rain during a storm. The host/manager was very responsive and helped sort out the problems as far as he could. Beds were very comfy and the kitchen was is well equipped. The area is up and coming, which makes it really interesting but like in a lot of the city you need to be sensible at night.

New Jersey Ave Wonderful Stay

We had a wonderful time. The few things that needed adjusting for our group were quickly taken care of by the host. Took a minute to get used to the city noise but even that was charming. Took a bit to figure out the TVs but that enabled us to spend time talking and reminiscing. We hope that we didn't make too much noise for the host and his neighbors. Hope this lovely place is available next time we visit D.C. Thank you, James!

Lots of space for a family

My family (spouse, kids ages 8-16, and I) stayed in this home for a week to be DC tourists. Having spent part of our vacation squeezed into a hotel room, we greatly appreciated having enough space and bathrooms for all of us to recharge separately. The portable air conditioners throughout the home made the temperature comfortable. We used public transportation during our stay, readily accessed via bus (just 1-2 minutes) or metro (10 minutes). The main street was occasionally a little noisy, but it wasn't disruptive to my children's ability to sleep. The owner was very quick with all communication, which I greatly appreciated. I'd recommend this home for future stays!

Everything We Needed

It was a great location. Lovely neighborhood, comfortable setting. We either Ubered, walked or took the metro everywhere. No need for a car. We ate out mostly, but the house has a full kitchen if you want to save money by cooking for yourself. We were 3 couples and we split the cost. It was much less expensive that 3 rooms in a hotel!!
