Right next to the building is Fort "Włochy", which served as a defensive reinforcement to protect access to Warsaw from the west. Today, Fort Włochy functions as a military museum, presenting the history of the fortifications and the role they played in the defence of the city. In the museum you can see exhibitions related to military history as well as antique cannons and weaponry. Fort Italy is surrounded by greenery, which also makes it a place for walking and relaxing in nature. There are plenty of interesting attractions nearby, such as the Carmen Parrottery and the Park with the Black Grouse Ponds. Numerous shops, cafés, restaurants and services can also be found in the immediate vicinity.
