Great location, right on the lake with its own private pool, pier and lake access. Modern design which is a contrast to the surrounding Italian style properties. Breakfast was great; huge selection, great quality and ability to eat in the garden with lake views. With the exception of the reception staff, pool guy (forgot his name) and the managers in the restaurant the rest of the staff lacked 4 star service. Service on the roof top bar was slow and the staff that were around didn’t smile or engage well. Maybe it was just hot… Our room was small and even smaller when we had an extra bed put in it. I know this was our choice, but to be then charged 40 Euro per night for the privilege was not a pleasant surprise at the end. This wasn’t hugely clear through Expedia when i booked. Overall a great stay, but a few refinements would have made it a better value stay and better 4 star experience.

We loved our stay here! Everything was well kept and clean. The views from the rooftop bar were amazing. Likewise, the drinks and service! The staff went above and beyond to provide recommendations and helped my fiancé with arranging flowers/wine for his proposal. We couldn't of picked a better place to stay!

Superb experience

We had a 5 night stay at this wonderful hotel and everything was absolutely perfect. The location is amazing overlooking the Lake with a short walk into the town. There was a plentiful choice for breakfast and parking is also available. A very enjoyable holiday!

Perfect honeymoon location

Hotel La Palma was the most perfect hotel for our honeymoon. It’s so close to the shops and restaurants, and the ferry that takes you to the islands. The sky bar pool was incredible and breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be back!

La Palma was the perfect stay for Stresa. The lake view room balcony could not be beat. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The Sky Bar was a wonderful way to spend an early evening for drinks and the hotel is centrally located with a great breakfast. Highly recommend and would stay again!

If you value beauty and tranquility then this is your place. Hotel La Palma was gorgeous. The staff were great and friendly. The location was perfect, you are able to see the coastline and the mountains. It is conveniently located near the train station so if you’d like to go into a busier area you have that option. My accommodation included complementary breakfast and it was so good! It had a lot to offer which was nice.

A very good hotel with good service

We had a very nice 3 night stay at Hotel La Palma. The room (room 204) was spacious and had all the standard creature comforts including a mini fridge and a spacious balcony with a table and two chairs. The mini spa (sauna, steam room and relaxation area) on the 6th floor was one of the highlights of the stay. The views were wonderful. Unfortunately the Sky Bar on the 7th floor was not yet open as we were there about 3 weeks before Easter and it was due to open for Easter. The whirlpool was open though and I visited it once. The breakfast was excellent and had everything anybody can sensibly ask for. The items were regularly replenished. The service at both breakfast and dinner (we had one dinner at the restaurant) was good. The food at the dinner was fine but nothing special. Everybody at the reception was friendly and polite. A special mention must go to one of the unsung heroes of the workplace. The cleaner lady at our floor was super friendly and polite. She was always smiling and saying "Buon giorno" to us. If we come back to Stresa, Hotel La Palma is likely to be our number one choice.
