About this property
BAITA 3 one-room apartment, double bed and sofa bed, bathroom, TV, fridge,
BAITA 3 is a one-room villa with double bed and sofa bed, TV, fridge, window, bathroom with shower, covered veranda with garden table and chairs. Parking space inside the Residence. The restaurant is available for excellent typical local menus with fresh fish delivered by the fisherman friend. In the morning we prepare typical cakes and pastries available for a breakfast to be consumed in the special area of the internal Bar. The closest beach, 550 meters away, is "Il Capricorno" botanical park, home to native and exotic flora, together with an ancient citrus grove within a large pine forest, there are areas with olive groves, whose centuries-old plants speak of the breath of this land of Puglia. The majestic and generous pears of prickly pear, with purple, orange or white fruits, very sweet and different in flavor and aroma, are typical of the area. There are the giant capers of the Gargano, with the most beautiful flowers of an orchid, very elegant, which hatch from the famous edible bud. The bright blue bellflowers, which cling everywhere and catch the eye, the dature with large bell-shaped flowers, pink, yellow and white, with an intense oriental scent, and various species of jasmine, bougainvillea with rare colors, agapants like fires of Jacaranda and Erytrina cristagalli trees, rare plants from Borneo, South America, Madagascar, Africa. The beautiful Baoinie with large fuchsia, red, white and bilobate leaves, the Choritie with barrel-shaped emerald trunks and large thorns, and with beautiful pink and white flowers. The seven-hectare park is a refuge for any resident or pass ornithological species,
At 900 meters the splendid cove of Molinella. Molinella beach has a low sandy bottom 400 meters long, nestled between the greenery and two rocky peninsulas where the sea has carved incredible natural pools.
In the morning, starting from Villa Carla you can enjoy the spectacle of the rising of the sun and along the Molinella cliff approach the Saracen Tower and 4 Trabucchi. The trabucchi, very ancient fishing tools, are widespread along the entire coast from Vieste to Peschici (where not there is a promontory on which one of these gigantic fishing machines does not stand). They are protected by the Gargano National Park and are back in business thanks to the protection and enhancement of the Park, which has adopted them as a sign of respect for the Gargano tradition. The journey for this Trekking itinerary is 60 minutes.
Just 15 minutes by car the immense and spectacular Umbrian Forest, from the Gargano National Park is one of the most beautiful places in Italy, for the variety of landscapes and consequently of natural habitats, unique in their entirety. It includes delightful villages characterized by typical local white houses, suggestive lakes, fascinating rock formations, long beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Adriatic, which have been repeatedly awarded the Blue Flag.
Inside the Gargano, which is the largest promontory of the entire Italian peninsula, there is also the Umbra Forest. Hundreds of millions of years ago the Gargano was an island completely covered by forests; when it joined the mainland, forming the famous "spur of Italy", it still maintained its island characteristics. Of the immense green area that encompassed it all, however, only the Umbra Forest remained.
According to some sources, the name derives from ancient Umbrian populations that resided within the forest, but much more likely it is due to the fact that the vegetation is so thick that it barely passes the sun's rays, so the environment is gloomy and full of shaded areas. The Umbra Forest is located in the heart of the park and reaches up to 832 meters above sea level with Mount Iacotenente.
The multiplicity of botanical species includes deciduous, beech and many species of flora in the undergrowth, especially orchids. The brown soil of the forest is ideal for vegetation to take root. Its very particular composition comes from a singular degenerative process that can last for millennia and which involves organisms such as larvae and fungi, which feed on wood, among others.
In fact, despite deforestation and fires, nature in this natural expanse is more luxuriant than ever. The beech is certainly the tree that most represents the forest with its dense and homogeneous fronds. The fauna is also very varied. Among the animal species, the Gargano roe deer, a very shy herbivore typical of this area, is certainly worth mentioning, the badger, the wild cat and many types of birds, among which we find many species of peaks, some predators such as the eagle owl and a infinity of species of passerines. It is easy to imagine how precious the Umbra Forest is for all those who love birdwatching or for all scholars and lovers of fauna. The forest is also very popular with nature photography enthusiasts, who find in these areas ideas for truly unique shots
Vieste is only 2500 meters from Villa Carla, you can spend unforgettable evenings in the "Vieste Vecchia"
from :
The historic center of Vieste, commonly called "Vieste Vecchia", stands compact on a rock dominating the sea that extends from the castle beach to that of the "small marina" through the thin strip of land of "Punta San Francesco".
The ancient village, of medieval origin has kept its original characteristics almost intact, with its characteristic irregular alleys, squares / lookouts (open to the sea) and the terraced houses marked in the prospect by small balconies / balconies (mignali) and joined at the streets by small and characteristic arches. Inside the ancient city walls, the architectural fabric becomes very dense and marked by a maze of narrow streets with steps. The palaces, churches and minute residential building types appear compact and massive, almost like a single episode built. The south-east part of the village, referred to as the "Ripa district" extends over the steep shore of the sea, creating an incredibly contrasting spectacle between the immensity of the sea and the ancient town that dominates it overlooking it overlooking it. The "Ripa" had the ancient function of a natural port, a true gateway to the city in a time when the lack of roads made moving by sea a necessity, thus making commercial exchanges with the inhabitants of modern Croatia very frequent.
Among the many houses, the small church of San Pietro d'Alcantara stands out for its simple architectural forms.

Of the narrow streets of the ancient village it is to remember, via Judeca, which testifies to the ancient presence of the Jews, with that charm of a small casbah, surviving from the time of the Saracen invasions, built with the spontaneous logic of those who over the centuries have thought of weaving human relationships before building architectures, doing very well on both fronts. Going down via Uria you will come across the small square of the Seggio, also on the cliff of the Ripa. The Seat or Seat of S. Giorgio (currently home to a hotel) was a low-rise, square-based building, on which two large arches opened, and was topped with a tower with clock. The castle and the cathedral, dating back to the Middle Ages, are the main buildings of the medieval village.
A few meters from the cathedral we find "the Chianca Amara", a stone / monument on which women, old people and children were killed in the year 1554, during an incursion by the hordes of the bloodthirsty Turkish pirate Draguth Rais. Uncrowded during the year, in summer the narrow streets of the historic center are populated with bazaars and shops (located in the former stables) where it is possible to find local crafts (mainly terracotta, ceramic and Lecce stone objects) and various types of souvenirs and origin.
