It was ok. The room was a little damp, and the a/c was too powerful for the size of the room. The restaurant downstairs is to be a pides. The food is bland and lukewarm. The shower in the room was great! Lots of pressure and hot water. The personnel was pretty friendly, except that a lady warned me because I displaced a little table in the lobby to study while my hubby was napping. The hotel is situated in the commercial port of Veracruz, and it can be pretty noisy very early in the morning. We had a double bed, kinda small but comfy enough. We asked for extra pillows which were provided with a smile. Hotel ok for the price.

I always stay in this hotel, staff is very courteous Management needs to pay attention to their equipment maintenance The elevator is loud and rattles The ice machine was broken for 7 days!!! Unacceptable! I wrote and let the front desk know about it since day one ( stayed in that hotel for 7 days

Overall a decent place to stay, however the elevators on the back entrance have some panels loose that rattle like the elevator is going become apart. Shakes and rattles very loud. Told the front desk, and 6 days later still the same Ice machine broke, 3 days later was the same. Have to go to the hotel’s restaurant to get ice from them. When they ask, if everything was ok my answer was the same When is the administration going to get a technician to fix the complaints that I report every day? Of course, they don’t know because they don’t take those decisions they just do what they’re told to do. Other than that service is good and a clean place, food is decent Security keeps an eye on the cars Stay there if you are not to picky.

The place smelled super moldy. It had a odd smell and don't get me started on the actual room. Super outdated old, sweaty windows this place smelled like mold as well when I asked for a refund immediately they declined and they did not give me back my $50.

Mar y Tiera was a nice hotel. Elevator broke for a day, on our floor it did not go down, you had to push up, then elevator went down. The bartender was fantastic. The food was decent. Location was great.

I love that the hotel is near the historical area. However, the area has seen better days. The area is safe, there are marines and police everywhere. Our view from our hotel room was an abandoned lot. The government is doing its best in restoring the area. Be aware when going there are a lot of ruins and unmaintained buildings.

Review of Hotel Mar y Tierra – Unpleasant Stay Des

The only highlight of our stay at Hotel Mar y Tierra was the beautiful view. Unfortunately, everything else fell far below expectations. Customer service at night was cold and unwelcoming. We also experienced a serious safety concern—the elevator malfunctioned, and we were stuck inside for four minutes. It’s clearly outdated and in need of urgent maintenance. The room conditions were unacceptable: a strong mildew smell, visible mold, stained pillows, and comforters that looked reused without proper cleaning. Most upsetting was how the pool staff treated my son, who is autistic and has limited verbal communication. As he was walking from our room to meet me (his mother), a staff member rudely yelled at him for simply trying to reach me. He didn’t understand what was happening, and it was heartbreaking and completely uncalled for. No family—especially one with children with special needs—should be subjected to this kind of treatment. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel and will not be returning
