First we were assigned a room in an annexed building which was not our request as they claimed. The room was dirty smelly and more like prison cell diffic to move around. More important it was in a high floor without elevator without any consideration for our age and our health condition as we tried to explain. All what they did is move us after we spent a terrible night to another room in the ground floor in the same ugly annex building. The new room was noisy at night that made the sleep uneasy. Above all all the staf in the front desk were not polite and refused to listen to any complaint.

Our room had an excellent view of the Grand Canal. The area is very quiet and away from all the crowds but is conveniently close to the train station. Breakfast had a wide selection and was very good. Just beware of the seagulls if you want to eat outside. Staff was very accomodating. Overall a superb choice.

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for the first time. It was charming and in a good location on the Grand Canal across from the train station. It was also easy to go into the heart of Venice from there. We will definitely consider it the next we go to Venice.

I’ve stayed in 5 Star Hotels and the service was as expected for a hotel of that ranking—very good. But more times than not, I always felt the service, although very good, it was forced. Part of the job. But at the Hotel Canal Grand, though not a five Star hotel, there was a genuine feeling that the staff really cared about the time you were staying with them. I felt like a guest. They could not have been more accommodating, and for that I am grateful.

The room was absolutely stunning. Staff was helpful and very efficient! The hotel is right on the canal and is just a 4-5min walk from the train station. Due to the location of the hotel, very close to many restaurants, bars, cafe and shopping boutiques

We stayed at Hotel Canal Grande for 4 nights. The front desk staff was kind and accommodating. We arrived at 1 am in the morning and wanted to have a cocktail after a long day of travel. Even though the bar closed at 11 pm, the front desk clerk was kind enough to open the bar for us for as long as we wanted. We had a junior suite and found it to be spacious compared to many rooms of this category in Europe. Relied on the front desk staff for many needs including advice on navigation, meals, etc. The staff was gracious during every encounter. The hotel location is as close to the action as you can get without being in the noise and crowds. 5 minute walk to the main drag (Rio Terra Lista di Spagna). Highly recommend and will stay there again
