This was a great place to stay. Family owned, very friendly and caring. Would recomend to anybody heading to Ubud. Very quiet and peaceful area, while also not being too far from the town.

We loved our stay at Ubad Retreat. The staff were amazing and very helpful. Delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner options smoothies. The free shuttle was handy to get into Ubud city and drivers were always very prompt. The pool is lovely and the gardens are so peaceful. We stayed with our 5 month old baby and felt very safe/happy.

We had a lovely stay at Ubad Retreat over the Christmas period. The staff were extremely helpful and we enjoyed the pool and dining hut facilities. We would definitely stay again.

Great place to stay, friendly and helpful staff. Only thing that bothered us was the other noisy guests. I think there should be a rule in place that there should be no noise after a certain time to respect other guests as well.

Hi people . I am writing this to say that i had an a amazing time at UBAD RETREAT RESORT gusti and his family are an amazing people , on arrival you can clearly see a new additional biukding going up along with a restuarant and pool which wihile talking to Gusti is lookjng at next year April or May 2020 which is going to so beautiful to see again as this new part and already there part towards the back combine are going to be amazing. Also just for people out there that are thinking that they think they might be distubed by noise this is not the case here they are so repectful of peoples hoildays . While there Gusti and family found out that a couple ie the Female was her birthday so they started singing happy birthday to her she was so blowen away and unexpexted it . This is just how you are looked after. The bedrooms next to none the best and to be honest the bed was the best really comfty out of my whole trip to bali this was the best ... Cant wait to see you again Gusti as i said its going to be sooner than we think hahaha . Also if anyone is traveling here and your going to be staying here and need transfur please contact >>Dupayana as he will collect you such a awesome local . +62 82 341 308 361 for a small cost of 350,000Rp= 35 dollars instead of paying 500,000 to 600,000 Rp . It was so different to anywhere we had stayed before and despite its rural location we really enjoyed our stay here. The place offers scooter hire which made it so easy to get around. The hotel organised other transport for us when needed and the local taxi drivers we had were great! The rooms were spacious, tidy and the beds were comfy. The food was so fresh and really good, we ate both breakfast and evening meal here throughout our stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble.

Quiet inexpensive friendly place

Too far from the airport. I like the fact that they had a shuttle running to Ubad city center three times a day. Just to have a inexpensive place to sleep, okay for the money.

Far from city center,bugs and cockroaches at night

Ubad Retreat is far from city center more or less 15 minute drive, but they offer free shuttle of 4 times a day to and from city center in a certain time and location of drop off and pick up. The staff can barely understand English except for the manager or owner. The place is spacious but more bugs at night in the room especially in the bathroom. Our first night at Ubad Retreat was a nightmare when the bathroom has dozens of cockroaches! Limited dishes in their menu, it would get you sick thinking what to eat if you stayed more than 3 days. No restaurants nearby, inaccessible and inconvenient to go to city center. They should offer more choices of food in their menu. The place is best for honeymooners or if you want confinement...but definitely NOT for youngsters, hipsters, beach buddies, party goers and adventure seeker.

Staff are pretty good and courteous, breakfast is till 12noon and they feed you well. You can rent bike at the retreat which is berth convienent give its remoteness to main city streets. The staff will arrange for local tours if requested and gave me good references for food and general travel. The place was quiet for most of the time I was , not many people and you need a bike to move around , main streets are 10 min away by motor bike.
