The hotel was great with a fantastic sea view, staff were friendly and helpful. I read the description of the hotel which said parking available (for a fee) but on arrival found it was a nearby council carpark. I took my old soft top car and was disappointed to leave it overnight outside and vulnerable. It would have been helpful if the car park arrangement was clearer

The staff were very helpful when it transpired I'd booked for the wrong night! They found me another room with no trouble at all, still with a sea view and I had a very comfortable and easy stay.

Great location, dated hotel
Great location, close to car park, beautiful area. Room was slightly dirty, hotel was dated, very noisy until 11:30pm due to pub being close to window, paper thin walls, Very small room. Wouldn't return.
This is a very nice and convenient hotel right on the water by the pier with easy access to the Falmouth ferry and very central to all the surroundings area. We had breakfast in another location as we explored this lovely sea port area overlooking the Falmouth Bay.

Value 4 money, clean, friendly staff and a good breakfast.
The Ship & Castle have a very welcoming team who looked after us very well. It’s right opposite the quayside, with temporary parking opposite the entrance Laos for unloading your luggage and then just a few minutes walk from the main car park.
Lovely restaurant & bar views over the waterside!
Our room had a spacious fitted bathroom and it was very well decorated and clean. The room itself a twin was a little snug, but had all we required.
We would have preferred a better view as we were facing over the back of the hotel, but given all the amenities are so close by and the lift right next door to our room which we required we were satisfied enough.
You can request a sea view and even a terrace off your room.
The local area is truly unspoilt and great for a daily or evening stroll. The local presidents were all friendly and there is a fish and chip bar for takeaway which is extremely good only a few yards away.
We enjoyed relaxing both inside and outside on the terrace at the pub around the corner, called The Rising Sun.
Great place if you have a dog also!
If you wanted a quiet place for a family picnic, there are steps beside the tourist information located in the main car park. Above the steps is a green area with picnic table and waste bin and a great view of the sea and bay beyond.
At the top end of the car park is an excellent play park for children.
There is an arcade of shops/art Glry
You can take the St Mawes Ferry down the picturesque Fal river to Falmouth.

Unique views from the bar and dining room
Lovely location, clean and great staff, good breakfast.
Room and corridors tired, someone had put a fist through bathroom door with a poor repare. We also looked out onto a window in an adjacent building. Room nothing like the standard double picture advertised.
Also did not appreciate housekeeping shouting down the corridor at 7.30am.

I thought the room was a little tired, but that is hyper critical. The room was small but perfectly serviceable and the bathroom was fine. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The buffet breakfast was ok. I had a 2 night stay, and it was great value, and a great position. Should be aware that there is no hotel parking and there is a choice of 2 car parks, mine (over the road) cost me £18 for my 2 night stay
I was happy from the service and people which are very nice and helpful. Building old but nice and clean.

Long, confusing walk to & from my room. Average meal, mainly catering for older customers (smaller portions).
Noisy ferry (honking horns every 5 minutes or so until around 9pm, asked at reception what the noise was)
We stayed for our Wedding Anniversary, and the hotel was nice, it is very dated but the atmosphere and people there where lovely. The room was nice and comfortable and the the view from our balcony was nice. We only stayed for one night and it was a nice experience. We had the breakfast the next day and that was worth the money and very filling.
The staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. They were great with my husband's gluten free diet.
They are making the best of a lovely, old premises
