Nightmare at Travel Lodge Wydham

I booked a  room there because I was having eye surgery and had to go early the next morning to a post op Drs appt. I did so because the price was reasonable and it said pet friendly my friend has a small therapy dog. After my surgery I went to check in and was told they didn't take cash. We had to find a place that would load my card. I came back and was informed that the pet deposit was $20. My issue with that was that it wasn't mentioned in the booking My friend and I are senior citizens and have medical issues deemed disabilities. I had just had eye surgery and I couldn't see well so I asked if we could get a bottom floor room. I was charged $10 for that. Later my friend went to take her dog out to relieve herself. It was then that we realized that the door did not lock. We didn't sleep well knowing it wasn't locked.After my pre op drs appt we came back and didn't think we'd make checkout time at 11. The office said checking out at noon would be $20 and $10 more the next hour.Leaving the room we saw damage to the inside of the door. It had been broken into recently. I took a pic and showed the clerk. I'm not privileged but I hoped there might be a little break for our awful experience. We won't return for my 2nd surgery and now I feel the need to directly deal with another hotel because I'm on a meager fixed income and these surprise costs affect me greatly.

Really love the fact they offer both recycling and trash bin in main bedroom. Clean, safe, close to nice diner The Cottage and 5 minutes from the TVC airport but didn’t hear planes
